Muse aren't particularly new in the game of music, but they still throw great tracks at us again and again! They are a three-strong band that belong to the 'Operacore' genre (as some say), which means they blend both hardcore rock and a certain style of singing together, and it can't be beaten.
There's plenty of Catchy and original songs on this CD, and it doesn't degrade in quality at any point in the course of the album, but keeps getting better and better. Although there's 14 tracks on the Disc, two of them are merely conjunctive tracks that link the previous song to the next, which might seem a bit silly, but when you hear it, it works perfectly.
The most acclaimed song on this album is the fantastic 'Time is Running Out', which tells a story of love - and as soon as it begins you can tell it's a winner, as fingers click and percussion rolls in to form a great beat, that carries through the rest of the song perfectly.
There are many other 'experimental' tracks included among the songs, such as 'Stockholm Syndrome', which is composed of heavy guitar sequences and great lyrics that combine to make great music.
Muse are not a band of one style - they like to mix and match to suit all preferences. One such track that is on Muse's softer side is 'Blackout', with beautiful strings and a slow, gentle beat. The song in general is something that sounds almost emotional and dramatic, something that many can relate to. The lyrics compliment this perfectly, with meaningful messages like "this life could be the last, and we're too young to care", sending out an almost morbid warning. This could be the only life we get, don't throw it away.
The Album's worth every penny - so many styles are used that you might aswell buy this instead of all the CD's in the world, quite basically.
Absolution is FURTHER complimented by a DVD featuring a documentary and photos of the making of the album - making it an even bigger and better package.
Not a single bad thing to say about it, but a whole album of good things...

some good info about the type of music although you could do with listing each track and describing them. Hannah xxx

Good description of the band's style. A bit more was probably needed, most music reviews here are long and detailed. I found a brilliant op once on member advice on music ops and used the advice to write my By The Way op. Couldn't tell you where it is but keep an eye out for it. Love Sharron xxx

Tracklisting with breif description of the kind of music each track is would be a good help to understand the blend of the album.
