First hearing muse back in 2001 although I didnt really like them I did have a spare bit of cash and so decided to buy their second album "Origin Of Symmetry" as some of their other songs had appealed to me. On buying the album I decided it to be somewhat a 'waste of cash' as it turned out I didnt like as many of their songs as I first thought.

However, three years later and on the dawn of the release "absolution" I now consider myself a muse fan *dances* So it's obvious that Muse aren't to everyone's liking and that as a band they do take some gettin used to.

The band itself is comprised of 3artists, from Devon England it gives us a bit of good ole British music thats actually worth while listening to!

The four tracks marked with an * are personal favourites, and on first listening to the album were immediate faves!

The intro to the album is magnificant, it starts off with the sound of marchind then suddenly, almost from nowhere the sound of pianos crashing interrupts, its a genius intro and I totally love it!

The reason I turned back to Muse, was after hearing a few songs played on Johnathon Ross' Friday night show a few months back. After hearing them I was immediately interested in listening to some more of the album, and I'm glad I did :)

"Time Is Running" Out and "Sing For Absolution" were played on Johnathon Ross and as already said I was eager to hear more from Muse.

Each song has a jumpy up beat feeling to it - which I feel is always best played loud lol :) All songs from the album are good, however those i have * I feel are the better of the bunch.

Personal Op

The album itsself is great quality, althought you do have to listen to Muse to get into some of their stuff, they have been descirbed as a more Rocky upbeat type of Radiohead, but even if you do like Radiohead, there is no guarentee you will enjoy the sound of muse.

I would say they are well worth a listen, even if you don't like them at first, give it another go in a few months, you may be pleasantly surpirsed at how different they sound a second time round.
