Full review
Muse's third studio album, Albsolution is a first class piece of workmanship by the Devon band. Echoeing guitar solo's from Matt Bellamy, with his wondeful falsetto voice resonating above the funky bass from Chris, on the likes of hysteria. Dominic Howard adds the percussion to die for on the album, which is just a step below the likes of "origin of symmetry"!

Clever song writing skills and hard work comes together to produce a wonderful album with many songs that could be liked by all! Some uplifting tunes, and some darker minor tunes, with an average level of heaviness to the music! Muse are a band that could extend musical boundaries one step further each time, with obvious inspirations such as Jeff Buckley! With some of the most beautiful lyrics ever created by man.

An album that everyone should own! One of the best things out there!

Track Listings:

1)Intro
A short march of feet and drums crescendoing up to the beginning of Apocalypse Please

2)Apocalypse Please
A dark minor song calling for the apocalypse! An excellent first track on an excellent album, which shows just what the rest of the album could be like! The standard is set straight away!

3)Time is Running Out
A beautiful bass entry, followed with clicks and claps that must be joined in with! Beautiful lyrics from the start with the first line being "I think I'm drowning, asphixiated, I want to break this spell that you've created". A song that has to be loved by everyone!

4)Sing for Absolution
An uplifting song with an almost religious sound! A feeling of awe is created with the complex chord progressions and Matt Bellamy's voice creating a sense of an idealistic world. Absolution links in well with this religious feel, and to the title of the album, and the listener is left feeling that they want to repent their sins immediately.

5)Stockholm Syndrome
One of the heaviest songs on the album, with a great sound being created! One of the songs on the album that you have to sing along with!

6)Falling Away with You
A beautiful song! The closest match to this song would probably be the earlier Muse song "Citizen Erased", a fan's favourite, and a song with beautiful melodies, and voice to match!

7)Interlude
A short chord sequence leading into Hysteria, lasts for seconds, but beautiful, and unique!

8)Hysteria
An excellent bass entry, which leaves the listener extremely impressed! Followed in by a wailing guitar, this song has everything to make the perfect song! Imploding hearts and all!

9)Blackout
Another beautiful song! The band is accompanied by some strings which make the song sound truely unique! The strings seem to mimic the voice of Matt Bellamy, to leave the listener full of emotion.

10)Butterflies and Hurricanes
A song that leaves you spellbound! I'd say it was the best on the album! Rock meets beauty! A song inspired by butterflies flapping their wings on one side of the world to cause hurricanes on the other side of the world! A slow introduction, which is repeated, but with much more energy and vigour the second time! Again, accompanied by strings the song suddenly becomes much more quiet and Matt Bellamy continues to play a wonderful piano solo, that could easily be confused to be a Rachmaninov piano concerto! This is where listeners are surprised to learn that Matt Bellamy cannot even read music, and has never had a piano lesson! Beautiful scalic passages, and a wonderful sound then returns to the music that was at the start of the song! A top song, which is definitely worth a listen!

11)The Small Print
Another excellent song! The song that is most like old Muse, which seems to act as the link from "Origin of Symmetry" to "Absolution"! However, this is no bad thing! A song that gets stuck in your head for ages!

12)Endlessly
A pretty song, but one of the weakest on the album. Still good but quite slow and doesn't seem to get going as much as the others! A beautiful song though with more string accompaniment!

13)Thoughts of a Dying Atheist
A great song about an atheist being scared as they are dying, due to them questionning their beliefs! After all, what if there is a God?! A beautiful song, with a wonderful chorus that hit's the spot perfectly..."It scares the hell out of me!"

14)Ruled by Secrecy
A slow ending to the album! Much falsetto, and a sad song! Again, a weaker song on the album, but still really nice as it grows on the listener! A beautiful song, to end an album of much beauty!
