Abstract Funk Theory (A Personal Voyage Into Jazz Inspired Tech house - Compiled By Kevin Yost) - Kevin Yost

Advantages: pure funk.
Disadvantages: erm... ... I couldn't get the inlay out of the case. I think that's more my problem though.

...Jamiroquai's 'A Funk Odyssey' - it does exactly what it says on the tin. 1. Feel So Good - Although it opens with an ominous windy sound, this track is exactly what we've come to expect from Jamiroquai; pure funk and acid jazz, only this time with no deep-rooted meaning. A no-brainer foot stomper this is, with a big bassline and a little funky guitar riff which (I think) is the sample referred to in the booklet. A definite contender for the next single, and one of the standout tracks on this immense album. Funk-o-meter: ***** 2. Little L - The first single to be released off the album, so you probably all know it. Once again a nice build up at the start, another driving bassline and you just can't resist shaking your ass to this one. Advantages: good music
Disadvantages: made me feel old .

...In the late sixties early seventies I listened to Kevin Ayres music a lot. I was young a bit of a hippy wore my hair long and dated men with long hair. Wore long skirts flowers in my hair. Listened to Alternate music, Pink Floyd, Yes, Gong, Mike Oldfield, Caravan. Kevin Ayres was with the band Soft machine at first then he split from them. I have little KEVIN Ayres music on cd but do have the best of Kevin Ayres a compilation by E M I in 1989. This Cd contains a fair selection of Kevin Ayres work. Track 1 is Butterfly Dance 1970 this was released as a single Kevin sings with female vocals wailing in the background. He sings about a lady he likens to a butterfly beautiful but never staying. Advantages: fun
Disadvantages: some stupid songs

...This album has the Best trance music ever, has all the classics plus the hits from the film, anyone who likes trance, dance or just summer tunes shoud buy this soundtrack, it instantionasly gets you in the mood for clubbing. I would definetly recomend to anyone into dance music to get this album and especially if you have seen the film "kevin and perry go large" as there is many hits from the film, the main one being "big girl" which is the track kevin and perry play as dj's in the film.
