...This is one of the first compilation CD's I ever bought. At the time I thought it was fantastic, but over the years I've seemed to have grown a little sick of some of the songs.
If anyone remembers the days of Shaggy and Oh Carolina, well, you'll like this compilation as it's full of old songs like that, (and that song sure does bring abck quite a few memories!)
Artists include:
Reel 2 Reel, Haddaway, M People, Aswad, Sister Sledge, Shaggy, Robin S, 2 Unlimited, Capella, Prodigy, The Shamen, Snap, Seal, S'Express and Black Box....
As you can tell by some of the above names, most of them are the oldies!
Brilliant to keep for 'old time sakes'....

Advantages: 60 Tracks of likeable and happy hardcore! Disadvantages: A more restrained sound that doesn't sit too well with the rest of the series.
...to fufill your desire. The reason I wasn't wowed by these disks was because of the general sound of the album. The beats were shorter and it created a 'neat' and 'abstract' feeling rather than epic and euphoric. Excessively abstract vocal sampling also detracted from the music slightly in some tracks.

Advantages: Brilliant electronic music Disadvantages: quite strange
...Rephlexions (variousartists) is the next installment of compilation albums on the Rephlex record label. It features another set of tracks by the key players on the label and is equally as good as the first compilation (Braindance (variousartists)) The sounds are spaced out emotional and very original explorations of electronia. The CD kicks off with some mellow keys on which glitchy drum and bass future breaks are laid on top. The second tracks goes straight into a gentle industrial clanking atmosphere where a glimmering machine sits in a castle basement, blue light floods through the window in the middle of the night, the machine gets more energy as the track progresses. All the tracks seem to have concepts behind them waiting to be discovered. I especially like track 14 'It aint perfect till its perfect' by LIKE-A-TIM, which sounds...
