...If the Boomtown Rats’ self titled debut album broke them through to the nation’s consciousness, it was their second album, A Tonic For The Troops, that really consolidated their position as one of the premier standard bearers for the disaffected, deeply bored youth of the nation. They were always the acceptable face of punk rock and quickly seemed to become the court jesters of punk rock, mainly due to the pyjama clad keyboardist Johnny Fingers and the diminutive bassist Pete Briquette.
The album remained in the UK charts for 44 weeks and peaked at number 8. During the same period, they had their first number one single in Rat Trap. The set saw them distance themselves from the worst excesses of orthodox hard core punk and establish themselves as gifted purveyors of an exciting mix of rock, pop and r&b.

...The Automatic: A Cardiff based four-piece student band who have been riding the tidal wave of success since the release of their single "Monster" in 2006. The band, who formed loosely at the age of twelve, and after some re-grouping, became The Automatic, released their debut single in 2005. "Recover" is virtually unheard of due to the fact only 1500 copies were ever produced and didn't even give the band a stepping-stone towards chart success. Their second single "Raoul" released in 2006 went to number 32 but faced the same dismal incompetence as the first.
The band's chart debutting track, "Monster" propelled them into the charts, and parted the sea of obscurity for the band. Their album "Not Accepted Anywhere" was released in June 2006, on the back of the success of "Monster" and the band have been riding high ever since.

...The Chronic is one of the most influential rap albums to ever be released. It ushered the industry out of the old school scene and brought with it true gangsta rap. It also gained mainstream acceptance, which made the hip-hop game the money-earner that it is today.
Besides the already-established Dr. Dre, The Chronic featured many other up-and-coming young talents. Warren G, Daz, Kurupt, Rage, Nate Dogg and Bushwick Bill all made appearances, but it was Snoop who carried most of the lyrical side of the album. With this effort, Death Row Records was born....
