Advantages: a great debut, great disco tracks Disadvantages: you may not be able to sit still listening to them
...'Off the Wall' was originally released in 1979 and was his first album after leaving the Jackson 5.
'Off The Wall' sold 12 million copies and it was the first album to give five hits in the UK. It stayed over three years on the UK albums chart. Off The Wall is probably regarded as Michael Jackson's best album by many though it may not have sold as much as Thriller and certainly in my opinion.
The album starts off with 'Don't Stop Til' You Get Enough', written solely by Michael Jackson. After a spoken intro the music is launched by a horn. Michael Jackson's high pitched voice has the lead part against his lower voice. They blend perfectly together. Advantages: Excellent musicianship , originality. Great recording. Disadvantages: A little longer maybe!!
...Jade Warrior consisted of a duo Jon Field ( Flute etc ) and Tony Duhig ( Guitar ) and on the earlier albums Vocalist ' Glyn Havard '. They released their first album in the UK in 1971 with the self same title. The so called Vertigo years in which they released all together three highly influential albums including this one.
With Flute they could on occasion sound like Jethro Tull but these were no rock band as such and had a far more distinctive progressive rock style while incorporating quite a lot of ' World Music 'elements.
'Realeased ' is probably the best of the three Vertigo albums and certainly my favourite one! From the opening ' Three Horned Dragon King ' with it's riffing guitars. sax, flute and driving tabla's.To the classic ' Barazinbar ' a magnificent 15 minute slice of driving ethno spacey rock with a touch of early...

Advantages: Remixed, Remastered and Extended Disadvantages: Import only at present

In their bid to capitalise on the pre-release frenzy of Connery's return to the 007 fold, the marketing bods at United Artists did Mr Barry a great disservice and we were landed with an album bereft of some great cues and themes. Instead, the original release largely featured background music composed for Bonds exploits in the Las Vegas Casinos.
More than 30 years on, EMI Capitol are setting the record straight with a remixed, remastered and extended release of the 'Diamonds' score. What's more, much like the DVD release, we get deleted and unused cues too. The album runs to 21 tracks and to around 70 minutes, with every track getting the full treatment. While the track names remain...
