Album Notes: Since its rise to global popularity in the 1970s, reggae has remained a defining influence on international music. This Putumayo sampler, entitled REGGAE AROUND THE WORLD, charts the effect of that influence, and the way it appears, either undiluted or in hybridized form, in music from Africa, Australia, South America, and the U.S. The inclusion of pureblood reggae artists like Burning Spear keeps the original torch burning, but the real treat is in hearing how reggae is incorporated into songs from Nigeria, Ghana, Brazil, and elsewhere. Like most Putumayo releases, REGGAE AROUND THE WORLD is bright, groove-centric, and eminently listenable.

Wow what a brillant c.d. Doesnt look all great from the front cover of the c.d but once you pop the c.d into the cd player it sureley does get you in the mood for dancing.. Its not all sad love songs its got the ones that wil make you want to get up and dance the night away. Defenitly the right c.d to listen to when you are going out on a girley night out or maybe even a girley night in with a couple of drinks.
Although most people dont really buy c.ds no more as you can download them off the internet for free you wil get the better quality off the c.d instead of a really bad copy of the songs.
I Would Reccomend this to anyone well you defenitly have to be a rnb person if you are not then just have a listen i dont know what you would not like about this music its fantastic!...

Advantages: amazing compilation of songs Disadvantages: a few not to my taste, only a bare amount
...A wonderful collection of purely acoustic songs. Inlucding the likes of James Blunt, David Gray, Maroon 5, Eva Cassidy, Bob Dylan, Jeff Buckley and many more.
Included in the album are two seperate cds, each as good as each other i especially like the fact there are 19 tracks to each cd which brings the total number of tracks to 38.
The only downside could be that there were a few songs that i didnt recognise but have grown to like through various listens.
An amazing compilation of tracks including information on variousartists albums whose tracks are includded on the cd.
I would definitely recoommend this album as it had enhanced some very nice emotions and created a very calmly atmosphere for either daytime or before you hit the hay.
A stunning collection of today's finest singer songwriters!...

...A fantastic CD with lot's of different kinds of rock. The best bands of 2006 and 2007 put in one CD. Artists like Snow Patrol, Razorlight, The Fratellies, The Arctic Monkeys, Automatic, The Ordinary Boys, The Killers, Keane, Franz Ferdinand, Kaiser Chiefs, The Kooks and the list goes on. Has two CD's and has 40 tracks, 20 on each CD. Has new up coming artist such as Wolfmother. has many artists winners from the Brits: The Killers who won best national CD and best national band, The Arctic Monkeys won best British CD and best British band. The Fratellis won an award too and many more Brit award winning artists. A fantastic purchase well worth its money. A great buy. I recommend definitely to people anywhere between 8 and 100 if they enjoy that kind of music. It even has some live performing artists such as 'The Arctic Monkeys' on tour...
