Acoustic Extravaganza - Acoustic Gem!
Review of KT Tunstall's Acoustic Extravaganza - K.T. Tunstall by  runetune

Advantages: Everything that is so good about KT Tunstall
Disadvantages: One song just has an edge of studio recording about it.

...Eye to the Telescope was a great album from KT Tunstall (well I thought so!) So I was really eager to add this to my collection when it was released. This is a CD/DVD set. First the play list: Disc: 1 (CD) 1. Ashes 2. Girl And The Ghost 3. One Day 4. Golden Age (cover of Beck song) 5. Boo Hoo 6. Gone To The Dogs 7. Change 8. Miniature Disasters (from Eye to the Telescope) 9. Universe & U (Acoustic Extravaganza Version) 10. Throw Me A Rope Disc: 2 (DVD) 1. Five Go To Skye (the making of the album documentary) 2. Gone To The Dogs (live) 3. Throw Me A Rope (live) 4. Wee Bastard Pedal 5. Out Takes History of the album: Originally only available through her website, it was eventually (and thankfully) decided to release this in its own right. We don't have the hit singles 'Black Horse and the Cherry Tree... Read review

Acoustic Soul, touches the soul
Review of Acoustic Soul...a Change Is Gonna Come - India Arie by  jcneil

Advantages: Voice, Lyrics
Disadvantages: A bit inconcistant aftet the interlude

...moments ...Acoustic Soul... Acoustic Soul is a unique mix of hip hop, neo soul, blues and folk, It was nominated for an amazing seven Grammy Awards in 2002, including "Album of the Year" and "Best R&B Album" And it was released on the Motown label. It was most successful in the United States reaching number three on the Billboard album charts but only charted at 55 in the UK album charts. There are Sixteen tracks on the album and they are very autobiographical and there are a few different styles on the album which show off her versatility. So without further ado here is my review of Acoustic Soul by India Arie. ...Tracks... 1.)Intro" - 0:50 This is a gentle short opening introduction to the album and has a nice feel and shows the direction to the album. 2.) Video" - 4:09 I loved this track from the moment I heard... Read review

Her Early Story -Posted to Toast the Return of KB!
Review of Whole Story, The - Kate Bush by  zerbine28

Advantages: Unique sounds from a musically imaginative artist.
Disadvantages: Not likely to be to the popular taste.

.... Kate tells a story about 'The Man with the Child in His Eyes'--is it a dream? a ghost of a kind visitor from the sea?--who can tell? A short, sweet, yet intriguing piece beautifully arranged with a nice mix of piano, strings, brass and flute. All too brief, however. 'Army Dreamers' tells a poignant tale of a young army lad who comes home only to be buried. It's gently rendered acoustically against a waltz-like 3/4 time signature, and the ultimate message is about 'What a waste--army dreamers . . .' 'Experiment IV' has a somewhat '80s feel to the guitars, but that's about all that dates it. It's a compelling, deceptively smooth track about creating music for evil ends--which could apply to just about any subversion of the good or innocent purpose for which a product or creation is originally intended. A very catchy rhythm to this one... Read review
