Advantages: Acoustic mix of talented artists - Bonus DVD featuring live performances Disadvantages: Few weak tracks
...The very best of MTV Unplugged 3 was released in 2004 by Universal International Music B.V. It's a compilation CD following on from the previous two releases by MTV, and contains a large selection of fantastic emotional acoustic music tracks. The majority of the artists in this compilation are well known, but it's the combination of these talented artists that make this so enjoyable.
The album brings together famed artists such as Sting, Eric Clapton, Bryan Adams, Elton John, and The Corrs, whilst also including rarer tracks from Page & Plant. There are a total of 10 tracks out of the 17 on the CD that have previously been unreleased, as well as a bonus DVD featuring all the performances of the tracks which are available on this CD live from the MTV Unplugged Show.

Advantages: The soaring emotion Disadvantages: Not a thing

The new dittie 'Jacque Cousteau' is an electronic ambient effort, which although pleasant could easily have been a Moby b-side and doesn't quite belong here.
Erasure have such a rich and varied back catalogue.
Acoustic versions of 'My Heart So Blue' 'Oh L'Amour' or 'Don't Suppose' for example could have really brought the band a new lease of life.
Andrew Poppy brought lush orchestral arrangements to tracks on 'The Two RIng Circus' to great effect.
I saw them do 'How Many Times?' with just Vince on guitar and a drum machine once on TV and it was awesome. This e.p isn't.
But I suppose at least playing with 'real' musicians they will get to appear on Jools Holland. It worked for the Pet Shop Boys.
I am still really looking forward to the album 'Union Street' though, which...
