Album Notes: Before becoming a glam rock star extraordinaire, Marc Bolan played acoustically. This excellent compilation features Bolan doing an array of T.Rex numbers (usually performed electrically) on acoustic guitar, with "Metal Guru," "Jeepster," and "Debora" among the highlights.
Advantages: Great for Bolan fans Disadvantages: none
...'s infatuation with his new found electronic and raunchier guitar sound. For all that this new idea infatuated Bolan it was his love of acoustics' and the transformation of his composing from this to electric that was rally his new baby.
10. Solid Gold Easy Action
Definitely one of the weakest tracks and I sometimes think it was just rushed out to soon in an effort to try rekindle what was rapidly becoming a flagging career. It did not do too well chart wise and failed to rekindle the spark.
11. By the light of the magical moon

Advantages: All UK singles present; totally uplifting; catchy choruses; timeless appeal Disadvantages: Several weak tracks on Disc 2.

CD 2 will probably appear weaker and in reality, I would sooner put CD 1 on when driving in the car but had this not been a 2 disc compilation, I fear many tracks would be missing.
On a final note, I would say out of every T Rex compilation on the market (and there are...

He had risen in popularity the hard way but at the beginning of the Seventies MarcBolan had his first commercial hit and glam rock was born. With his pink Bolero and glittered eyes he took the Seventies to new heights along with groups like Sweet, Mud and Slade. His elfish charm and cockney wit were to make him one of the biggest stars since the Beatles. The music papers of the time hailed him as the new king The Wizard of Notting Hill, not since the hey day of the Beatles had such a mania been seen in Britain. Glam Rock was here and T.Rexstasy was leading the way.
With his group T.Rex Marc was to have a succession of number one hits and many top ten hits. His youthful exuberance had the teenage girls...
