...From the second that the left hand begins the oscillating theme in the first track of Fantaisie Impromptu it is clear that Naxos have made a fantastic decision in the use of Idil Biret as the pianist for this collection.
The pianist plays with more human regard for the pieces than I have ever heard from another- she is never rushed, even through the mad vivace tempo marking the Minute Waltz- even in that she plays with a beauty and subtle tone that leaves the listener glad to have partaken in the experience.
The collection is superbly recorded and sourced- there is a wide variation of the Chopin favourites here, and they can all be excused their vast notereity solely as Biret's interpretations are so secure and novel.

...I went to Les Miserables last year and can say without doubt in my opinion, this is the most wonderful musical I have heard of. I am basing that on the fact that this was a full house matinee performance which included stunning acts and sets.
I had never seen this show prior to going but having previously heard songs from it, I had already began to fall in love with it. We had wonderful seats in the middle of the dress circle (which cost in the region of £40 each for the two of us, a total of £80. Prior to the film starting we sat down and also had a couple of wine spritzers which cost in the region of £5 each - I wondered if this was going to be value for money??
The show was being viewed at the The Palace Theatre. We took our seats for a film that was going to last almost 3 hours! The film is about the French revolution, love...

...Of Sound. The label instantly seen the potential of the young 18 year old and promptly snapped him up. The now self proclaimed Jacques Lu Cont named his influences as The Pet Shop Boys and Kraftwerk; it seemed destined that he would end up making electro tunes.
His first venture into a band was with his best friends Johnny and Adam Blake. The band produced some good electro house tunes but it was soon put on hold. As he decided to go it alone and record under the name Les Rythmes Digitales. In the studio Jacques Lu Cont is the man behind the music, creating the beats, finding the samples and getting the guests in to lay down the vocals. The first Les Rythmes Digitales single "Kontakte" was released in 1996 and it had a distinct electro vibe to it.
