...Aqua’s album Aquarius is not a very good album for a number of reasons. Firstly all (well certainly most) of the songs have a similar tune to them and to add insult to injury it is not a very good tune either. Secondly, because Aqua has not released a song from their album for quite a while it takes all of the glory out of the album. The songs themselves do not have very good lyrics and they are definitely aimed at children- for example the song ‘Barbie Girl’. Overall this is not an album worth buying.... Read review

Advantages: Confirmed Metallica are still alive!
Disadvantages: This album...oh ye, its 75 mins long.

.... Then there was one of the worst hours of my life. I know, i know, it all sounds a bit melodramatic but hell, im a huge metallica fan. The rest of the album is a banal trawl through songs which sound the same. Thats bad enough but when you basically have a 75 minute song, which is utter shit at that, you have to draw a line. For a moment i just considered listing the songs and their traits but i realised it would be a complete waste of both yours and my time. To add insult to injury, Metallica juped me aswell. I was discussing the purchase of this album with my brother a few days before its release he said he had, had enough and refused to buy it. I agreed. Then i heard the first single St. Anger. The chorus stunned me. There was mention of 'Hitting the lights' with reference to a track from their first album which had been released 20 years... Read review

...This is the point at which Pulp turned a corner. This is a compilation of 3 singles and b-sides recorded after leaving Fire Records, and before signing to Island. I bought it after buying His 'n' Hers and Different Class. There are some great songs, such as Babies, (which also appears on His 'n' Hers) Razzamatazz, I.O. Stacks. The lyrics are great, and Candida's keyboard's really add to the sound. Definitely buy this album if you liked His 'n' Hers and Different Class. You can pretty much ignore anything recorded by Pulp before this though!... Read review
