Advantages: Ambient, catchy, fast, electronic, a real mix of emotions. Disadvantages: Sometimes too slow, some irritating synthy sounds.
...VNV Nation are awesome! If you are a fan of industrial music i'm sure you have at least heard of VNV Nation. I think this is their best album to date.
It is a very emotional album, with my favourites, 'Beloved' which is quite slow and ambient, (and is really cool live!) and 'Genesis' which is fast beat and dancy. Quite alot of re-mixes have been done of this one for goth/industrial nightclubs. The album as a whole is very good but not very consistent, I find my self skipping tracks sometimes.
If you are into VNV Nation though you will simply love it! if you like bands such as- Assemblage23, Covenant, Retrosic.... you will also adore this album.
It is certainly a "must -have" for any industrial collection!...

Advantages: It's Steely Dan Disadvantages: None come to mind
...Be warned this re-issue from 1999 of the 1974 release of the “Steely Dan” album “Pretzel Logic” only clocks in at just over 34 minutes long.
This collection of 11 tracks has as always has been written by Becker and Fagen except 1, the instrumental track by Duke Ellington and Bubber Miley called “East St. Louis Toodle-Oo is the only cover version on this album.
But what an album in only that length of time the men from “Dan” have created a masterpiece, as with Steely Dan’s albums the opening track is one of the strongest of this short assemblage of songs.
“Rikki don’t lose that Number” with the opening lines of the chorus “Rikki don’t lose that number, You don’t wanna call nobody else, Send it off in a letter to yourself”, a really memorable song...

...The first thing too say about this album is that the sound quality is so much better than the sound that is on the other Bauhaus C.D. that I have has, the other C.D. I have is “In the Flat Field”. Which was basically a B.B.C. session released by the record company.
This is first problem I have with this collection of tracks by the “Art” School gloom masters, it’s in the wrong chorological order.
This assemblage of tracks should start with the awesome “Bela Lugosi’s dead” the bands first single, only ever released on 12” single as it’s 9minutes and 30 seconds long, “The bats have flown the bell tower the victims have been bled” great line.
The next track should be “Double Dare” then the title song of their debut album, this I can forgive, as the sound...
