was a little dubious, the book is called "Betrayed" and the cover displays a little girl clutching her teddy bear, ok the signs were not looking good!
Upon explaining to my friend about my avoiding these books for a while she allayed my fears by explaining she was also tired of them and this book was completely different, ok, I thought, lets give it a go!
The story - The scene is set by the lead character Lyndsey, it starts with first meeting her husband, then her marriage to Mike.
The story takes a long time to get going, though in fairness she does need to set the scene for the reader to understand how terribly she felt after the "betrayal".
She states herself she has never been one of those women that gravitates towards female counterparts, but after meeting Tanya develops into one of the greatest friendships of her life.

This review is on Betrayed, the second book in P.C. And Kristin Cast's House of Night Saga. The books are teenage fiction, published in 2007 by Atom. There is a warning on the back of this book declaring that it is not suitable for younger readers, and I agree whole-heartedly with this!
There are some spoilers from the first book (Marked) here, but I've tried to keep them to a minimum.
Betrayed begins a month on from where Marked left off, which was with Zoey Redbird taking over from Aphrodite as leader of the Dark Daughters and as High Priestess in training at House of Night. House of Night is a school for fledgling vampyres (in Zoey's world, vampyres and humans co-exist and have always done so). The rules are simple, you succeed at school and you live, but if your body rejects the change from human to vampyre, you die.
