Advantages: great first album Disadvantages: seems a little rushed in recording it
...When I bought this album I thought she was going to be a bit like Kate Nash, but she is not Adele has her own very unique style, a lot more soul and a bit jazzy at times. Adele has a unique voice as it's unlike most other recording artists, the only person that I think she sounds like is Amy Winehouse and their music styles are slightly different.
If you have only heard chasing pavements, don't judge the album on that, because she has a better variety of her tracks on here which show cases her abilities.
There are five amazing songs on this album these are Chasing Pavements, Daydreams, Best For Last, Hometown Glory and Cold Shoulder.
What's more Adele wrote all of the lyrics on the album she also wrote most of the music for the songs as well so she is one very talented lady who deserves a lot of respect as there are not many artists...

Advantages: Wonderful Recording, rich strings and great dynamics Disadvantages: All other versions you hear will disappoint
...be a fruxtrating affair. Having a decent Hi-fi is incredibly helpful to get the most out of the CDs, but I always find (living in London) that late at night, when the background noise has fallen to acceptabe levels, the subtleties of classical music can be truly appreciated - though the neighbours may disagree...... Ahem......
This disc is a Detsche Grammophon offering and like many of their discs, is of the highest quality. There is not the background hiss normally associated with poor quality recordings, and the sound of the instruments is right in the room. The strings are lovely and rich and the brass cuts through with sharpness and precision. The dynamics are also great, highlighting the quality of the orchestra/conductor.
The CD has three suites, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty and the Nutcracker. Plenty to keep you entertained. My favourite...

Advantages: Unparalleled playing, Unbelievably good bargain for 6 CDs! Disadvantages: Um, paper sleeves? No, seriously, it's great
...This box set comprises recordings from 1985-89, when Horowitz was 81 years old! In 1986 Horowitz returned to Russia after 60 years away to give his monumental Moscow recital of which the live recording is included in this set. I personally find this performance of Liszt's Sonetto 104 del Petrarca to be the finest ever recorded. Alongside this is Scarlatti, Mozart, Rachmaninov, Scriabin, Schumann, Chopin, Moszkowski, and Schubert.
Accompanying this recital is 5 other discs of outstandingly unique playing. As he got older, Horowitz's playing became a sort of caricature of itself in the nicest possible way. By this I mean, his dynamics became more extreme, he became more expressive than ever, and his sense of style was heightened to new levels. Horowitz's Mozart playing has been criticized for being too free and not in Mozart...
