Adore was not a commercial success when it was intitally released, however, the steps album was so If I was Corgan and Co' I wouldnt be too worried about that. This is a mellodic outpouring from the pumpkins, and is something that you can sit back and listen to. Although I actually fell asleep listening to this CD just the other day, I was tired to start with. At times Corgan's wining does get a little annoying, but if you cant cope with that then you arent really suited to being a pumpkins fan. This lacks rock elements somewhat, and I dont belive that it compares that favourably to Machinea. Buying this CD is not a waste of money, I actually quite like it, sometimes you need something a little more relaxed and that you can put on in the background, theres nothing grownd breaking here, perhaps something for fans only. If new to the Smashing Pumpkins, looks to the latest album first, then if you like that then this might be worth a look.
