an other pumpkins album added to my collection and once again the disappointment is kept at bay by great music. this is deffinetly a lot slower than "mellon collie and the infinite sadness" which really is no let down (especially not when you want slow music). the opening track on the album, "to sheila", is such a soothing track and it must be said that this is really billy corgan at his best. the lyrics are incredible and really make you feel as though you are somewhere else. "to sheila" is then followed by song upon song of very calming and sometimes sad music which is what gives this album its great mood. although the songs are fairly slow, they do have a very special side to them which is usually accompanied by very good background rhythms. the lyrics are performed excellently by billy corgan and are also very "deep"

the inlay and the whole cd itself is a lot darker in feel than what they are for "mellon collie and the infinite sadness" which also helps to give the album a very mellow feel to it.

it does however take some time for it to grow on you and so i would not recommend it to people who want to get into the smashing pumpkins. the album is deffinetly worth a look though.
