...A HISTORY IN MUSIC
Aero is an album from Jean Michel Jarre; an acclaimed French music artist who has been using the latest in technology to create his music right from the start. Jean Michel Jarre uses synthesisers, keyboards and other technology to create his music which is all of an electronic nature, some with rock elements and others more chillout elements. His music has always followed this style and although he may not be the most well known ... ...STORY
The cover of Aero (as you can see above), despite having little depth, cannot fail to catch your eye. However, should you look closely, you will see that at the centre of each eye, there is a glowing white doorway with a black figure standing within it. On the inside of the sleeve, the general colour scheme tends to be a white background with blue whisps. The best way to think about it is to imagine in the middle of summer, a lovely blue sky ...

Open Your Mind Review ofAero (+DVD) - Jean Michel Jarreby
sghawken
Advantages: An experience that could change your life Disadvantages: None
...marketed as a double product Aero comes as a CD but hidden within the case there is also a DVD, the contents of which far too interesting to be ignored, in what appears to be one of the most controversial moves in his career Jarre forgets the very thing he became as famous for as his music, tipping the view of this musical genius on its axis, what on earth could he have done I hear you cry? Before we look forward we owe it to ourselves to look back.
... ...impressive. With the launch of Aero while still achieving a magnificent show, Jarre's big plan was to put music back into the living rooms of his fans with an unusually low key but impressive new plan.
While the CD is impressive with its music and sound effects, the big deal here lies with the bonus DVD. While the CD features 15 new and remastered tracks, the enclosed DVD features an 11 additional musical scores from his full concert put interestingly ...

Advantages: 5.1 surround sound, Jarre at his absolute best. Disadvantages: None, even if you own the original tracks.
...preferred - enter Aero.
Aero is a combination of new tracks and old tracks, but in the case of the old tracks everything is re-recorded note for note (all by himself) and captured in 5.1 surround sound, he also did all the producing work for this new album by himself, no small feat.
So who would want to buy Aero when they may already have some of his work by virtue of his greatest hits CD's?
To be perfectly honest you will need either a PC or ... ...own studio in France.
Aero is a fully immersive experience where the listener will be enveloped into a world of audio never before experienced, every note, every key, every moment will all be heard around you 'swishing' and 'teasing' your senses thru 360° and taking you to a musical heaven of pure Jarre nirvana, this is the very first CD of its type ever created and what a way to introduce us to it, this isnt supermarket music, this is perfect perfection ...

Advantages: Some new tracks. Enhanced old tracks - then of course there's the DVD Disadvantages: Not much new for something purporting to be a new album
...out.
On first appearances, Aero IS something new. For one thing the normal CD jewel case feels slightly thicker and heavier, this being explained on first opening by the fact that it contains not only a CD but also a DVD. Not for him the mainly audio but partly multi-media CD with a ‘bit of video’ tacked on, oh no, here you get two disks.
I didn’t pay the disk much attention until getting home from our Lake District Christmas hideaway.
Then I ... ...a mere 3 of them; Aero Opening, Aero, and Aerozone. In any case, J-M J albums tend to be thematic, with a common melody pervading the whole, so describing a track called Oxygène IV is much like describing Oxygène III
Then of course there’s the DVD……..
This contains 26 tracks, following much the same pattern, but of course, there’s the video aspect - well no, actually there isn’t unless you count over an hour’s worth of staring into someone’s eyes. ...

Advantages: Beautiful Inspirational Music Disadvantages: Boring DVD
Aero is what I can only describe as wonderful. I have loved Jean Michel Jarre ever since I saw him perform Oxygene, complete with laser light show, at the London Dockland.
This was particularly good value at only £9.97 in Tesco as it is not only a CD but a 5.1 DTS or Dolby Digital Surround Sound DVD. My first thought was to watch the DVD and enjoy the surround sound experience, well, the surround sound experience was great but the DVD was just plain ... ...- CD

Album Notes: 'Aero' brings together tracks from French, electronic pioneer Jean Michel Jarre's back catalogue. With the advent of new surround sound technology, Jarre has re-recorded each track note for note so the listener can experience Jarre's synth based compositions in true 5.1 surround sound. The DVD also includes a 73 minute film of French actress Anne Parillaud's eyes as she listens to Jarre's work.
