Advantages: Great triple CD Disadvantages: None
...jazz style horns.
There's Chief Udoh Essiet whose style reminds me of the best of blues, with a fantastic horn section that could blow even the great horn sections of the past into a cocked hat. His song they Must Go also brings in elements of African gospel singing. And some cool funky guitar, too!
And there's Peter King, whose Watusi is the epitome of cross cultural genius, with laid back jazz grooves that would stand up against any of the jazz greats of the past 40 years. Maybe more.
Next up is something by Femi Kuti, Truth Don Die. Femi is the son of Fela Kuti, and is no mean musician himself. Funky, groovy, and eminently danceable.
Next is Salif Keita, whose track Madan (Laid remix) is a splendid working of modern style with traditional African music and singing.

Advantages: very lively Disadvantages: there are some part of the songs that are too noisy
...I like the song and i think that it is fit for the movie because it is lively with a touch of funkiness. The intro of the song where the variousartists sang in acapella has a big impact as well. I like the blending of their voices as well as their funky suits in their music video. I just find it too noisy in the latter part of the song because each the variousartists tend to sing their own tunes. I like the packaging of the cd as well as the cd itself. Great music! Really groovy! and it makes the listener groove to the music! it is a must have cd and it is actually one of my favorite because i like such kinds of music genre. It has its own originality and is very hip and cool!...

Advantages: New tracks from leading artists unavailable elsewhere, and for a good cause Disadvantages: All recorded in one day, so may not be quite as polished as usual
...An excellent collection of todays top bands all coming together to record unreleased songs in one day for the Warchild charity. Coldplay, Radiohead, Keane, Gorillaz, Damien Rice, Magic Numbers (and 14 other established artists!) contribute excellent material and the whole work has a cohesive feel, tied together by the joint cause. My only gripe is Babyshambles, but there is no accounting for taste! Especially pleasing is that there are two of the foremost Africanartists at the moment, Emmanuel Jal and Tinariwen, giving the roster a more global outlook than the Live8 show. Running time comes to 76 minutes, so value for money cannot be doubted (especially considering Play and Amazon are selling it for £4.99 at the moment. Nevermind the quantity, here the quality....
