Album Reviews: Option (July-Aug./92, p.122) - \"..on this CD his precise, controlled single-note runs and crisp chording will have the listener sure he's listening to a vintage Charlie Christian disk...[He] handles 1930s and '40s swing with a totally comfortable assurance..\"
Advantages: Extremely Enjoyable Selection of Classic Hits Disadvantages: Can't think of any
...I can't actually remember how I came about getting this CD but I certainly had to bring it with me when I moved to university. He is a big hit in my household, even my mum likes him. I have listened to endless hours of Robbie Williams throughout my teens and have never tired of his work.
The former member of the Boy Band, Take That (1990-1995) was born on 13th February 1974 in Newcastle-under-Lyme. With his cheeky charm, and flamboyance he has drawn hundreds of thousands of fans worldwide and continues to do so to this day. Robbie is apparently worth an estimated £100 million / $196 million. I fear that this recording is marred by damage to the masters, as it seems to have some problems. Even so, it shows what Duke an his court could do.
Speaking of royalty in jazz, the next track is King Oliver with Rhythm Club Stomp. This is re-mastered for digital stereo and seems to have benefited from the experience. It could be this might be one of the accidental stereo recordings that was discovered. Apparently it was the habit of some record producers to use two sets of recording equipment on a recording session, as insurance against an equipment failure. One set...
