Advantages: Fun film with a strong voice cast and good animation Disadvantages: In the face of stronge competition, it doesn't quite match up
When "Robots" was released in 2005 I headed off to see it in the cinema. I have to admit in the sea of animated films offered by the likes of Pixar and Dreamworks in the last five years I had practically forgotten seeing the film when I met my husband and he happened to have the dvd in his collection. In the time we've been together I've watched the film at least 3 times and it never fails to raise at least a little giggle.
THE PREMISE
This Twentieth Century Fox animated film was directed by Chris Wedge and Carlos Saldanha who have been involved in the fabulous Ice Age films. As suggested by the title, it is set in a world where everyone is a Robot, as are their pets. Rodney Copperbottom is the beloved only child of hardworking parents who are forced to provide him with a serious of hand-me-down-parts, including some teenage ...

Advantages: none spring to mind Disadvantages: Considering this is for children I am shocked
,he also passes wind all the time,is a show off and likes to play stupid practical jokes .In one episode we were allowed to see him use Robot Boy to illegal download the latest game.Well that is just so unbelievable.
Some of the phrases used by the charaters,it is no wonder children these days are becoming so cheeky and using unacceptable phrases and have not respect for there elders or anyone or anything, when they are producting programmes of this nature.
I myself after seeing this particular episode will no longer allow my children to watch this programme as well as a few others that are shown on cartoon network.
Robot Boy is full of violence with robots battling each other, bullying and aggression.
I dont know if anyone else has seen this animation but,I personally do not recommend that you allow your children to watch it,until you ...

Producers: Will Smith, Laurence Mark, Wyck Godfrey,Topher Dow and John Davis
Director: Alex Provas
Starring: Will Smith, Bruce Greenwood, Bridget Moynahan, Chi McBride, Alan Tudyk, James Cromwell and Shia LaBeouf
Released in 2004 this film was as impressive as you would expect from Will Smith.
Set in the year 2035 in Chicago with humanoid robots walking the streets as servants to humans. We are quickly introduced to detective Del Spooner, (played by Will Smith) and soon realise that he has a total distrust for the robots, (later in the movie we find out the reason for the mistrust).
The film essentially starts with the death of a top scientist, presumably suicide, although Del thinks otherwise.
As del investigates the death he soon realises that there is more to the situation than first thought. The special effects used in ...

Album Notes
The '80s had GRACELAND, the '90s had Rusted Root, and the new millennium had Vampire Weekend, so at this point it should be no surprise when North American pop music embraces South African sensibilities. However, with BLK JKS' highly hyped debut, Afro-pop is presented in a different light. Instead of being a U.S.-minded album created with the help of African musicians, it's one created by African musicians. Instead of being a watered-down white take on tribal beats, it's a reversal: Africans staking their claim on indie rock. Like Mars Volta and TV on the Radio, the songs on BLK JKS' debut, AFTER ROBOTS, are made up of shifting soundcapes rather than a linear progression. More often than not, these reverberated parts (enhanced by producer Brandon Curtis) whirlwind away into a free-form jam full of horn blasts provided by Hypnotic Brass Ensemble or circular Santana-esque guitar runs. They fit into the indie rock genre about as loosely as Bad Brains fit the hardcore punk stereotype or Living Colour fit in the hair metal mold. Who cares? Pigeonholing is futile, this is simply solid music.

On the limmited edition it has all the music videos on it as well! An excellent touch I think!
The cover is the only downside that I have found, it looks nice now but after time it's going to be a bit scruffy as it's made like a hard back book with no plastic covering. (*)
