Agony of Death is the Holy Moses' 12th album in a career which spans back to the late 80s. Despite the years having passed, the band haven't changed their style and what you get here is a blast from the past with Holy Moses' brand of relatively simple yet productive thrash metal. The heavier brands of metal tend to be dominated by technical bands these days, so it's nice to see these guys blasting it out like thrash gods (& godess)
Sabina's vocals are particularly enjoyable, the queen of rock n roll was one of the first and is still one of the only women to have mastered the death growl. I would say her voice being female adds a hidden dimension to the death growl which actually makes it sound harsher than ever.
This is a great album and my favourite track is the electrifying World in Darkness. Fiery and immense, it is a must buy if you're pining for a bit of thrash circa late 80s and are not overly keen on the thrash bands around today.
