...Amelie was a great success worldwide and listening to the soundtrack makes you relive the best scenes of the film. Yann Tiersen is truly a great composer and this soundtrack is so full of positive feelings that can make you feel happier just by listening to it!
The sound of the classical instruments used is very clear, he also used some light effects on a few tracks, like old vinyl record crackles. The melodies are simple and so beautiful, that is what makes it so easy to listen. The presence of the accordion really reminds of old French songs, a bit in the spirit of Edith Piaf's. All the ingredients are there to make it music you can listen to at any time. I listened to this CD over and over again, while traveling, studying, cooking, and it cheers me up and makes me dream.

...Anyone who was utterly captivated by this film will be equally so with the soundtrack. The composer, Yann Tiersen, has an enchantingly unique sound and uses a wide range of instruments to create a mixture of quirky, up-beat pieces, and slower, piano-based melodies. The sound as a whole is very French, full of accordians and other folk instruments that evoke the streets of Paris beautifully.
As soon as the opening strains of the first track come on you begin to be transported back into that little world that the film took you to. Track 1 is entitled "J'y Suis Jamais Alle" and is the piece that plays during the opening scene of the film and that recurs throughout, it is jaunty and largely violin-based and would be instantly recognisable to any Amelie fan.
