Album Notes: Originally released in 1993, less than three year's before frontman Jeffrey Lee Pierce's drug-related death, AHMED'S WILD DREAM is a live album of songs spanning the entirety of the Gun Club's career. Perhaps the first band to synthesize blues with post-punk, the Gun Club are the spiritual fathers of the White Stripes, the Black Keys, and many other indie rockers of the new century, and their sole live album is an essential document of their primal power. This 2008 reissue adds two demo recordings, "Humanesque" and "Pastoral Hide and Seek."
Album Reviews: Uncut (p.100) - 4 stars out of 5 -- "[T]his live set...reveals what an incredibly visceral band they were....Original guitarist Kid Congo Powers rejoins to shine here on a cover of Hendrix's 'Little Wing'."

She was taken to the Memorial Medical Centre. Selena was pronounced dead at 1:05pm a hour after she was shot.
This day will be remembered for years to come as Black Friday.
It was a death that rocked the entire Latino music industry, being compared to the deaths of Elvis and John Lennon.
Yolanda was convicted for the murder in November 1995 and sentanced to at least 30 years in prison.
A special service was held in the Los Angelese Coliseum where Selena was due to give a concert and less than a month later Texas Govenor George.W.Bush declared April 16 "Selena day" in her honour.
"Dreaming of You" Selena's final album, was released in the early...

...New Jersey is a band at it's creative and popular peak. A band who are turning out perfect rock tunes. Where else could you find a collection with as many *good* singles?
Bad Medicine, Born to Be My Baby, Lay Your Hands On Me, Living In Sin, I'll Be There For You... it's amazing to think that these tracks could all have come off one album. But wait - there's more. The rest of the album is nearly as good as all the singles, and you'll find it very hard to shake *any* of these tracks from your head, especially "Stick To Your Guns", "Wild Is The Wind" and "99 In The Shade"
A classic rock record, no more, no less....

...further accentuates the growing storytelling of Bon Jovis lyrics, an aspect of their craft that would garentee them longevity.
"Homebound Train" allows the shackles to be removed for all out hard rock. One could be forgiven for calling Bon Jovi too comecial but when the so called comercial songs are fused with integrity then it is a flawed case.
"Wild is the Wind" points to the future direction the band would explore more on Keep the Faith, in terms of both structure and lyrical content. The acoustic accompaniment gives the beginning of the song a certain majesty.
"Ride Cowboy Ride" is just over a minute of acoustic singing to the style of an old radio. Even though a stand alone track it somehow feels like an intro the next song.
"Stick to your Guns" is a call to arms to chase your dreams, to try to live them and to never back down...
