Advantages: everything from music, vocals, lyrics, preformance Disadvantages: not one
So what are you doing when you hear deranged fucked up (excuse the language) lyrics mixed in with electronic sounds/music, vocals that sound terrifying but give you some sort of warmth and hope however also as if your in some sort of gory horror film, ahh yes that's right your listening to Skinny Puppy.
I find out about this band whilst watching the film "the doom generation" (great film by the way) apparently some members of skinny puppy had a minor role in it. When I herd they were industrial that was when I decided to check them out because I'm a huge fan of industrial music. For those of you that don't know what industrial music is let me run you though it:

Advantages: Gavin Lee Disadvantages: Uninspired music and lyrics

But it's not much fun, when it comes down to it.
Music is by Denis King, lyrics by Dick Vosburgh and the cast of eight features Barry Cryer and Gavin Lee (who went on to create the stage version of Bert in Mary Poppins ...
Advantages: Looks fantastic, razor-sharp script, hugely entertaining Disadvantages: Strong violence will put off some
"The new Pulp Fiction" has been a tag handed about quite liberally since Quentin Tarantino's epic 1994 film, sometimes to any film which involved a large cast and a few guns! However this year, after an 11 year wait we finally have a movie fit to wear that weighty crown - Sin City.
Frank Miller's graphic novels have garnered a cult following over the past few years, and fanboys were up in arms at the thought of a poor adaptation to film, but thankfully, in the more than capable hands of director Robert Rodriguez (From Dusk Til Dawn, Desperado, and er, Spy Kids) what we are left with is arguably the best comic book adaptation of the lot. Rodriguez has pulled a masterstroke in having Miller on board throughout, crediting him as co-director (its actually Miller's name that appears above the film title).
So, whats it all about? Well ...
