Advantages: Disadvantages:
...&mdash it's lived-in and complex, just like the group's forays into soul and gospel. While the songs, including the masterpieces "Rocks Off," "Tumbling Dice," "Torn and Frayed," "Happy," "Let It Loose," and "Shine a Light," are all terrific, they blend together, with only certain lyrics and guitar lines emerging from the murk. Advantages: Very innovative, doesn't take itself too seriously Disadvantages: Can be challenging to listen to
...Probably one of the strangest and most brilliant albums you will ever hear. Not your typical drum and bass, with gangsta posturing and oh-so-serious lyrics, this album sometimes borders on the insane and silly, but always retaining enjoyability.

Plus, if you do decide to buy this album, your next step should certainly be to go see Tim live! It's like nothing you could imagine!...

Exile was the first full-length from these French extreme-metallers and is to date the most progressive. The band themselves (if I'm not mistaken) have said that this album was they're most experimental album. Anorexia Nervosa has always had strong industrial influences (they actually were an industrial band) and on Exile it is the most noticeable. The sound of guitars and especially the drumming is quite distinctively with huge industrial metal influence. The sound generally is clean and atmospheric, not light and atmospheric, but instead very dark as if giving forth the feeling one could imagine himself being in a big empty prison cell or cave...
