Advantages: Fantastic live album Disadvantages: none
...This live double album is both a fantastic introduction to Boris for the new listener and a treat for the longtime fans. CD1 opens with the drone classic, 'Feedbacker', which effortlessly segues into the rest of the first cd. CD2 contains a number of more recent Boris songs, as well as the epic 'The evilone which sobs', a menacing slab of noise taken from the Dronevil double album. The presence of Merzbow on this release only serves to highlight the power of Boris and the magnificent noise they make. I really cannot recommend this double album highly enough, the sound quality is excellent (which is more than can be said for some live albums) and the selection of songs is varied enough to keep the listener's attention throughout....

...I never understood why this album received poor reviews. From the first time that I listened to it I thought that it was fantastic. Initially I thought that the first 7 or so songs where a cut above the last few on the album, but when I had a chance to listen to them a few times, I thought that these too were great songs. The lyrics are sometimes a bit odd, such as on tracks like The JubJub Bird and Sky will fall, sometimes they even seem to be telling a story, one with a Western/ Mexican feel. Apparantly this was down to a great deal of Tequilla in the recording studio. I don't know if this is true or not, but i like the side effects if it is!
Outstanding tracks would have to be 4 Day Weekend, Ames and If... Though UTA deserves a mention for its bleak sound - and the siren in the background.
Also don't forget the bonus track!...

...You have to feel sorry for old Boris Dluglosch. One minute he was just some nobody remixing Moloko's 'Sing it back', reportedly not even getting paid for his good deed. Then next, it was the biggest summer anthem of 1999, Moloko were proplled to superstar levels of coolness and he was still just a DJ nobody. Ah well. Such is the unfairness of life. Still, there'll be plenty of people out there there eager to find out what Roisin Murphy and co do next.Although @thing to make and do' may come as a bit of a shock to those whose knowledge of moloko begins and ends at 'Sing it back'....
