What a Diamond Review ofJazz Singer, The (Original Soundtrack) - Neil Diamondby

Advantages: Very easy listening Disadvantages: None
...The Jazz Singer is the album from Neil Diamond which was the soundtrack to the remake of "The Jazz Singer", originally done for the "big screen" by AlJolson.
Released in November 1980 by Capitol and EMI it was then re-released in February 1996 on Columbia and Sony. The film actually didn't do very well in the box office but the soundtrack became one of Neil Diamond's best selling albums in the States by selling over 5 million albums.
Three of the songs from the soundtrack became top ten singles, "Love on the Rocks", "Hello Again" and "America".
The track listing is as follows:
"America" (Neil Diamond)
"Adan Olom"
"You Baby"
"Love On The Rocks" (Diamond/Gilbert Becaud)
"Amazed and Confused"
"On the Robert E. Lee"
"Summer Love"
"Hello Again"
"Acapulco"
"Hey Louise"
"Songs Of Life
"Jerusalem"

Advantages: A good mixture of movie songs and Decca Recordings Disadvantages: It is just another Garland compliation

My favourite track is "The Trolley Song" from "Meet Me in St Louis2 (And although I was born too late to see her sing it in person I did get to see her daughter Lorna sing it in London recently). A bouncing version of Cole Porter's "Be A Clown" from The Pirate is here as well as the showstopper from "Easter Parade", "A Couple of Swells". Not to mention a version of AlJolson's "Swanee" which later appeared in the greatest musical drama ever made "A Star is Born".
Proving that Garland's voice has outlived the triumph and the tragedies, this compilation is full of effortless magic. It shows how much Judy is still very much with us. During "Over The Rainbow" she is the small girl from Kansas telling us...

Advantages: Official WWF Entrance themes Disadvantages: -
...The Official Music CD of the WWF; The latest edition of which is called volume 5 and hosts some of the songs used as entrance themes by the superstars themselves. I like the CD Because it is good to have as a collector of WWF Merchandise - and since I have WWF Volume 3 (which came free with Volume 5 i might add), Volume 4 and Volume 2 it was compulsary to get Volume 5.
Here is a listing of the tracks...
1. The Game - HHH
2. Rowdy - K-Kwik
3. If you dare - Tazz
4. It just feels right - Lita
5. Out of the Fire - Kane
6. Latino heat - Eddie Guerrero
7. I've got it all - Billy Gunn
8. What about me? - Raven
9. Who I am - Chyna
10. Medal - Kurt Angle
11. Bad Man - Rikishi
12. Shooter - Chris Benoit
13. Turn it up - Too Cool
14. Pie - The Rock
So as you can see there are 14 tracks; all which last around 3 minutes and total around 40...
