Alabama Song - Doors (The)

Advantages: good to chill out to
Disadvantages: not everyones cup of tea

...This album is really good... For someone who is into a lot of rock and metal etc. this is a really good chill out album. The songs are all really catchy, believe me you'll catch yourself singing it all the time. In my opinion this is Alabama3's best album although i was surprised it didn't get the hype i thought it would with the soprano's theme tune. You'll either love or hate this album, i let some of my friends listen to it as they were going to be a T in the park but they didn't appreciate it (but then again they mostly like pop and rap) I think good advice for this album would be to download a song such as "too sick to pray" or "woke up this morning" before you buy it. if you like these then i'm sure you would like the rest.... ...for a thruth? This song is boiles with energy, if you see what I mean. A classic. SOUL KITCHEN ++++++++++++ The little organ played by Manzarek is very present here. Jim is screaming and begging enter her(?) soul kitchen.... this is poetry! One important advice: read the lyrics! (I'm talking about all songs here) They could exist without music. THE CRYSTAL SHIP ++++++++++++++++ This songs sounds very unreal, floating, .... and then you discover why: it's about drugs. Still, it sounds very intimate and not "imseeingpinkelephants"-like. Some people claim (not some, many) that Morrison wrote his songs while being stoned. TWENTIETH CENTURY FOX +++++++++++++++++++++ The sound is similar to "Soul kitchen", a very present organ. ...it a go. 9/10 3. The Crystal Ship - Lyrically good again. 9/10 4. Twentieth Century Fox - Not the best. 5/10 5. Alabama song - Sounds like a German umpha band. Great song, cover from the early 20th century. Brilliant. 10/10 6. Light my fire - Do I need to say anything about this? Written by Robby Krieger the guitarist, probably the Doors biggest ever hit. If you like Will Young’s version give this a go, this is far better. 10/10 7. Back Door man - One of the best songs on the album. Underlying homosexual lyrics. Fantastic thumping drums. 10/10 8. I Looked at you - Slower song but still mesmeric. Brilliant. 9/10 9. End of the Night - Not the best. 5/10 10. Take it as it comes - Ok song. 5/10 11. The end - Brilliant song. Banned all over the world initially. Freudian lyrics about Oedipus complex where apparently all men want to kill... Read review
