Advantages: Super cool guitar work, great singing Disadvantages: none
...I bought this album last year after seeing a Paul Gilbert (guitarist of Racer X) guitar clinic. The song that stands out the most in this album is the title track "Technical Difficulties", an amazingly well thought out instrumental song. "Poison Eyes" is a song that was never studio recorded and released on any previous albums but it was played live and added to the live album "extreme volume". Racer X is my favourite band and "Technical Difficulties" is one of my very favourite albums of all time! Unfortunatley, Bruce Bouillet is not in this album as he did not rejoin Racer X, but Paul Gilbert alone takes care of the terrifying guitar work! If you love rock and guitar playing then I strongly recommend this album!...

Advantages: Great music and album art and formed by two thirds of blink 182 Disadvantages: It's there only release, And one or two of the songs are repetative
...Boxcar Racer is a band formed by tom Delonge and Travis barker the guitarist and drummer of a well known successful band known as blink 182, the music that is produced by boxcar racer is similar to blink 182 but is more serious and emotional. The lyrics are thought provoking and have a story or message in them, its less glossy and heavier, it takes on weightier subject matter than blink 182 comic sounds. Even though they only brought out one CD it is excellent And if you like this I also suggest you buy blink 182 newest album which is self titled you could listen to these CDs over again and not get bored with them un like others. If you are planning on purchasing this Boxcar Racer I would suggest you do so it is an excellent CD to add to your collection of music....

Advantages: It's almost blink-182 Disadvantages: It's almost blink-182
...For all those blink-182 and Box Car fans out there you will probably already know the story behind BCR (Box Car Racer), but for those who are reading this with intent to buy or otherwise I'll give you the summary.
When blink-182 took their first break, guitarist Tom DeLonge and drummer Travis Barker decided to embark on a side project with two of 'Over My Dead Body's' members David Kennedy and Anthony Celestino. The original idea, which I've heard was forwarded by Tom, was to have the side project to pay tribute to bands such as Refused and Fugazi. The influences of these such bands are shown throught the album.
This leaves it with a more mellow punk rock feel.
Tom's guitar skills haven't improved much from the pop-punk riffs of blink, but thats not to say that BCR have no musical ability, nor is it saying that Tom lets the side...
