If you've ever found yourself in a hot, sweaty nightclub at midnight with your hands in the air, lost in the thumping bassline and melodic vocals of a trance track, you're gonna love this! Those clever people at Ministry of Sound have put together al collection of trance tunes spanning the past ten years or so, and they've picked some absolute corkers. Three discs of classic offerings to bring those memories flooding back, covered in more detail below...glowsticks optional!
So how would you kick off such a collection? Something a few years old, huge at the time and still sounding as good eleven years on perhaps. Step forward Underworld - Born Slippy, the Trainspotting anthem and a great opener for the next 53 tracks.

Dave Pearce is a DJ which is synonymous with classic dance as a resulted of his long standing radio show on BBC Radio 1 entitled 'Dance Anthems'. Off the back of this success he has released a long line of classics compilations. This is another installment of what has proved to be a highly successful series. The title my mis-lead, Trance Anthems 2009 may suggest to some that this is 3 CD's of the finest in brand new trance 2009 has had and will have to offer. Unfortunately though this is not really the case. On the other side as you may expect, you have 2 CD's crammed full of all of the usual tracks we've come to know and love/hate (Delete as appropriate) over the last decade. fantastic product. 3 cd's of pure classics that make you want to dance all night long. full of everyones all time favourites. i would recommend this album to anyone. It is pre mixed so it can be listened to all the way through with no breaks. It is great for Dj's too because it will get everyone one the dance floor jumping around. it is really versatile. full of great tunes that can be listened to in any kind of mood. my particular favourites on it been Olive, with 'You're not alone' and Chicane with 'Salt water'. Ensemble Al Kindi includes: Sheikh Habboush (vocals). This superb two-record set is a mother lode of first-rate Sufi music. The Ensemble Al Kindi is one of the foremost contemporary groups performing and recording traditional Sufi music, and ALEPPIAN SUFI TRANCE represents some of their finest work. In the ancient tradition of Sufism, trance music is used for meditation, whirling dances, and achieving states of transcendence and ecstasy. ALEPPIAN SUFI TRANCE observes each of these traditions, and listeners hearing this music will likely have the sense of having entered a sacred space. Building on subtle, pulsing rhythms and winding flute melodies, the music increases in intensity until it reaches shuddering, climactic crescendos.
