Alezane - Thierry Robin

Advantages: Beautifully thought out, Suits the attribute of the modern Robin Hood nicely
Disadvantages: Can repeat motifis too much, Not for those who don't appreciate abit of cheese

Sweet sure-but really something a noble, justice-fighting makes-you-proud-to-be-british (if you REALLY want to ham it up) guy should be representated as? Yet alone an outlaw. -BUT- now thanks to Andy Price (composer) and the smooth stylings of the Danubia Symphony Orchestra who performed at the Budapest Opera House, that is no more. Say those words to me now: *bur-de-dar-BUUUUUUUR* trumpets flare, orchestras sing. Now thats more like it There are 34 tracks on this album, wont list them so as to save space. Advantages: Robin Hood's Theme
Disadvantages: Not complete score

...With the help of Student Loans and the Internet I've managed to track down most of my favourite soundtracks, and this one was definitely worth the effort. Michael Kamen's awesome, rousing Robin Hood theme is a classic (worth buying the CD for on its own) and the rest of the CD is pretty much flawless as well. (The exception being the last track "Wild Times" - a song) You get all the familiar music here, making it easy to picture each scene from the film: Robin's Escape, The Confrontation with Little John, The Climactic Rescue, Maid Marian At The Waterfall, etc. Unfortunately, the CD isn't that long and I think there is some music missing. Buy this CD and you won't be disappointed, unless you are after the complete score which isn't available anywhere anyway. (If you like Michael Kamen, he also did the soundtrack to the truly... ...Clannad's biggest talent is that they blend traditional Irish folk music with a New Age style which is great, they have created their own style which is often described wierd, their hybrid is great and I love their music. I think they are one of the best folk groups Ireland has and their music is great. Their most famous work is Robin, Hooded man, a theme tune which is dark and mystical, a great composition. Lifeline though is my favourite song because it combines Irish folk with New age with rock to create one of the most interesting tracks I have ever heard... Read review
