Advantages: Funky Justine makes us feel good. Disadvantages: Some songs a tiny little bit dull.
...What a comeback! Elastica have shown us that they can rock as good as the rest of them once more. Although this album doesn't have the same feel as their first, it's certainly not inferior. In fact tracks such as "Mad Dog", "Generator" and "DaDaDa" are definitely superior to tracks of the previous release. The laid back feel of "DaDaDa" is pure rock genius, and the serenity of "My Sex" shows that Elastica are back! And kicking the asses of the critics who said they couldn't do it. Elastica are unique - and The Menace is highly recommended. Never before has such a piercingly good album been produced from Britain!...

Advantages: Catchy, fun dance tune. Disadvantages: You'll get sick of it quickly.
...Okay, let's face it - the lyrics on this cheesy Europop song are hardly poetic. But "I'm blue, da be dee, da ba da.." sticks in your head endlessly, and isn't that a quality that all top hits possess?
Yes, you'll get sick of it and yes, we're dealing with highly manufactured pop. But "Blue", one-hit wonder as it may be, was one great dance track. It reverberated out of clubs and from parties everywhere for months after its release, and you could hardly turn on the TV without seeing the video.
It's not quality music, but it's definitely fun whilst it lasts....

Advantages: All time ace album Disadvantages: None at all
...Although they are no longer, you can still get a fix by listening to "The Hussys", James McColls new band. I gave this a try initially by hiring the cassette (yes, cassette) from Grimsby Borough Libraries; after hiring it for 4 weeks, this didn`t seem to make financial sense so I bought it and loved it. One of those albums where every track is a good track - still my favourite to this day. This album makes you happy.
There were a few singles from it - unfortunately, the band will forever be associated with "Smile" but listen in and the rest of the album is even better.
If you need a DIY man, and you can find him, maybe you can hire Derek!!!
Dada daaa, dada daaa. Ratatatat.
This band should have been massive....
