01) My Paper Heart this song has a great beat behind it and shows off the talent of ritters vocal chords.and also features what sounds like a Glockenspiel!!!!
02)Your Star this track seems very thought provoking with some pretty haunting piano melodys thrown in.
03)Swing Swing emotions that swing..... a relationship split depicted in song, great drumming and very very good guitar work make this a very easy song to listen to.
04)Time Stands Still i think ive started to see a pattern emerging, with this being the fourth song that seems to be talking about relationship breakdowns youd think that this was a depressing album but it actually makes you smile,
05)One More Sad Song another great song to show off just what a talented singer Ritter is, and loads more great guitar work is captured within too.
06)Why Worry this is a more slow and humdrum song among the collection on this cd, its very slow and to be honest is the onnly one that doesnt quite fit with the rest.....
07)Dont Leave Me this starts with a beat that draws you in and lyrics that keep you involved, the back beat drums the tune into your head and the speed with which some of the lyrics are said can leave you feeling a little dizzy.
08)Too Far Gone it opens with piano and guitar blended so effortlessly together. its got a good toe tapping beat and great lyrics.
09)Drive Away this song reminds me of a sum 41 track in parts, even more great toe tapping beats and the lyrics are brilliant to listen to, its a great song really just wish it was a bit longer.
10)Happy Endings counting the ways.... a very bontempi piano beat in the back ground makes this a very strange song to listen to, the lyrics are powerful but i think it could do without the doorbell song during the chorus......
11)The Last Song it starts with the sound of a radio being tuned in, and then in comes the great sound of the guitars, the whole song gets you moving and ive even discovered that if you listen to this track whilst on a treadmill the beat keeps you going although singing along is not a wise idea in a crowded gym (dont ask how i know ....).
12)The Cigarette Song this is an acoustic song, its slow but with a good beat and great lyrics and being acoustic it gives you more of a chance to listen to Ritters dulcet tones.
all in all id say its a great cd, with only one track thats a bit too slow for the album but thats what 'skip' is for on your cd player isnt it? lol.
the album art work is good although im not quite sure what the lawnmowers got to do with the songs yet.......
but d say yes go out and buy it, i did and i dont regret it!!!!!

The All-American Rejects: Tyson Ritter (vocals, bass); Nick Wheeler (guitar, keyboards, drums, programming). Recorded at Mission Sound and Headgear Studio, Brooklyn, New York. Tyson Ritter and Nick Wheeler, the two college-age clean-cut men who form the nexus of the All-American Rejects, have a knack for driving home a pop hook. Clearly weaned on power pop's history from the Beach Boys and Big Star to the Cars and Weezer and other more modern proponents, the Oklahoma outfit serves up gentle pop radiance with a hint of Replacements-style brashness on its self-titled debut. The All-American Rejects' songs capture a youthful simplicity without slipping into juvenile lyrics like many bands with a similar sound. There is an endearing innocence in tunes like "My Paper Heart" with its simple opening entreaty "please just don't play with me/my paper heart will bleed" over insistent acoustic guitar before a quiet storm replete with a tympani-sounding instrument. Ornate instrumentation abounds, but it augments the music, never seeming forced or out or place, likely a combination of prescience on the pair's part and the experienced hand of producer-engineer Tim O'Heir (Sebadoh, Superdrag, Possum Dixon). In fact, the album's hallmark is a bewitching, summery, infectious pop consistency.
