...They were tipped to be 'The new Libertines' by far too many a music journalist in the UK to be healthy, Razorlight have been around a couple of years now, but this, their debut record, only appeared this year, to almost unanimously great reviews. While I was sceptical, the band were being dubbed the new Libertines while that band still existed, the singles taken from UpAll Night pipped my interest, and I was told it was great by someone in a bar one afternoon and on the way to the bus promptly bought it. I really need to stop doing things like that, not because this CD makes me regret it, but it's only a matter of time before someone tells me to buy an album by U2 or Nickelback or someone else I have a healthy distaste for.
Razorlight comprise of singer/guitarist Johnny Borrell, essentially the face of the band, other singer...

Advantages: Fantastic new rock band, great attittude Disadvantages: Needs a few listens to appreciate fully.
...Well, to answer this question simply, this band is good. However, this is probably an answer far too simple.
Upall night has some great mixes of guitar, piano, drums, johnny burrells vocals and a bit of violin here and there.
I saw this band live just last friday with queen and i feel that they are fantastic live but this does not really come through on the album. This is because they have just such great stage prescence and a great looking set, with the fantastic In the City as their finishing song.
Highlights for me are Vice, Dalston, Golden touch and in the city.
1.Leave me alone- a very worthy start with a simple start and slowly progresses and builds up to a dramtic ending on about 3 minutes with guitars going full blat and burrell yelling into the mic. Several of my mates have claimed this to be their favourite song...

Advantages: Every song is great Disadvantages: None
...Going back a few years, I went to watch Razorlight live at the Apollo in Manchester. This was the first band I'd ever seen like, so didn't really know what to expect.
To be honest, I'd only heard a couple of their songs! But the gig was absolutely amazing. After being to many gigs since, it only reinforced how good Razorlight were, and this energy and passion that I experience from the band at the gig, has also been passed onto thir Debut album- upall night.
The day after the gig, I went and bought this album, and gave it a listen, and I have to say- this is probably one of the best debut albums of recent times. Every track is well written, with great instrumentals, and the whole album flows nicely.
Razorlight's music is a soft rock. Something nice to listen to when you're stressed out, or when you want to get in the mood...
