Let me tell you all about this album. After pac was bailed from jail, he was on a mission to show people his talents. His record label Interscope had dropped him, because of hi erratic behavior. The manager of Death Row – Suge Knight, signed him up on the agreement that we would make at least 4 albums before being let out of his contract. This was his first and by far his best release on Death Row.
It was Saturday, I had nothing to do, but then I remembered, I was going into Manchester today. Once a month I manage to get away to Manchester with a few buds that I know. The main reason we go to Manchester is to look at the all the horror movies and laugh at the corny titles (it was the bloody judge this time) and buy music. This I was going to buy a horror movie until I saw it.....the greatest album ever.
As you all probably know and are bored to death every time I mention it, I love Rap music. To see 2Pac's greatest ever album on sale at £9.99 is an offer I could not refuse. Normally this album can be seen in HMV for around £18.99, so I never bothered buying it. They didn’t even sell it in musiczone, so when I saw it, I was quite amazed.

Now, I'm not being biased here by saying this ranks as the best Rap album ever, because it does. Its up there with Biggies first album, Ice Cubes Death Certificate and N.W.A's Straight Outta Compton. Most of the tracks on greatest hits were taken from this album. With no further delay, here is the track listing for All Eyez On Me.

Ohhhhh yes, looks to me like a few of them songs are have a star hanging over them! U know what that means, Time to talk about my fave songs.
All About You ============== After you hear the first track on the album you could be disappointed. Ambitionz Az A Ridah is good in its own right, but this song really shows 2pac's talents. Its a really upbeat song that has a great tune and a fantastic chorus. Praise should be given to Nate Dogg, the chorus king himself. Although 2pac's rapping is sublime on this track its helped by the tune.
"Every other city we go, Every other video, No matter where I go, I see the same hoe"
Skandalouz =========== This song starts off nice and calm with 2pac speaking in the background. It then gets right into it with a nice calm background tune and 2pac jamming away. It then kicks into the chorus, which, funnily enough is again done by Nate Dogg. He only says a few words in the whole songs, but believe me, he makes the song better. This is a song about Skandalouz women, that play people for there money, not that I think they do......honest......I'm a good boy. This is one of my fave tracks on the whole album, but doesnt come close to my favourite.
"Won't be no bulls*it, no ass kissing cuz b*tch, I'll have you waking up, with all your cash missing"
How Do You Want It =================== Another Addition that was made to the greatest hits album was this song. It’s not really surprising that it was added, as it’s a class track. Well as you can probably tell, this track is a lot to do with sex. I wont go into detail, apart from say this is a great song. What else can I say?
"forgive me I’m a ridah, still I’m just a simple man all I want is money, f*ck tha fame"
2 Of Amerikaz Most Wanted ========================== Apart from California Love this is perhaps, the most notable song on the album. 2 Of Amerikaz Most Wanted was one of 2pac's greatest hits and rightly so. It features Snoop Dogg and with them two on vocals, you can't expect anything apart from an amazing song. These were two of the hottest talents around the time and this song went down a treat. The gangsta style tune and the raw rapping talents of Snoop and 2pac, makes it rise above the rest.
"Let me tell you about life, and bout the way it is You see we live by the gun, so we die by the gun's, kids"
Life Goes On ============= This is one op 2pacs more softer songs, they cant all be gangsta. 2pac's rapping seems much more laid back on this track and the tune in the background indicates that the song will not be one of his usuals. 2pac did many songs like this, perhaps thats why he got so much recognition, because he could show his emotions. Not many rappers do songs about there mums, something that 2pac did. This song is very good, but not the best.
"Bury me smilin', with G's in my pocket, have a party at my funeral, let every rapper rock it"
Only God Can Judge Me ====================== This was one of 2pacs favourite quotes and something that you may have seen on 2pac posters. Along with "lived by the gun, died by the gun" its 2pacs most famous quote. I was expecting this song to be good and I wasn't disapointed. I think its one of his underrated songs. It has and electro sounding voice in the background for the chorus, which goes well with the song. Its a strange song, it seems serious at times and then it changes to an upbeat tune.
"Got a body full of bullet holes layin here naked, Still I can't breathe, somethings evil in my IV"
California Love ================ Well, did you really expect me to miss this song out?. This is by far the most famous 2pac song in history and can still be heard today. Channels like Base and even Kiss, play is on the occasion. This is of course the remix version of the song, which is a shame because the original is the better one by far. Everybody remembers California Love for the synth voice in the background and the great tune. It features Dr. Dre and even he can't manage to spoil the track. An all time classic, but still not the best.....
"Now it's '95 and they clock me and watch me Diamonds shinin lookin like I robbed Liberace"
I Ain't Mad At Cha =================== Ahhhh were here at last! My favourite 2pac song of all time. When I started listening to 2pac I didn’t really appreciate this song, but after a few listens, I realised what I was missing. This is again one of 2pac's more sensitive songs. The piano playing in the background really tops it for me, it adds somethign that cannot be found in any of his songs. The chorus is fantastic and 2pacs rapping is fabulous as usual. These three qualities combined, make this song the best ever in 2pac history for me. Only songs close to it are Changes, Cali Love and Keep Ya Head Up
"I kiss my Mama goodbye, and wipe the tears from her lonely eyes. Said I'll return but I gotta fight the fate's arrived"
Shorty Wanna Be A Thug ======================= This is the last song I'm going to write about.....honestly, I know your all bored. This is another of 2pacs great underrated songs. It starts with a high pitch kind of tune and 2pac shouting out "shorty wanna be a thug, shortys gonna be a thug" and then kicks off into the song. As you may guess, its about young thugs that roam the street and what the get up to. Its strange, 2pac isn't really discouriging them to be thugs, even though it caused him bad luck. Its a great song to listen to and one of his more gangsta tunes.
"It's getting drastic, n***as got automatics My fingers on the trigga"
Well there you have it my 10 favourite songs on the album, I could have added more easily, but these rise above the rest.
Well what else can I say about this album, apart from sheer quality. I'd easily give the album 10/10 and it's on bloody sale! so go and buy it. Thanks for the read ladies and gentlemen......I'll be off......Andy :)
Advantages: Double Cd, value for money Disadvantages: Some people would have prefered a more solo effort.
Probably the best rap album ever produced, selling more than 6 million copies worldwide. I bought this album as soon as it hit the stores.
If your looking for an album that contains an explosive blend of hard hitting 'gansta rap' rhymes mixed with a laid back 'thug' style rhythms then this is the album for you. Featuring top west coast artists such as Snoop Dogg, Dr Dre and E40, alongside a few from the east coast artists like Method Man.

Review of All Eyez On Me [PA] - 2Pac
Advantages: 2 CD's (plenty of tracks), Collabarations aplenty Disadvantages: None at all, The album is top notch
...purchased the legendary 2 Pacs All eyez on me album, it was a few months after his death and i had heard of the obviously well known tunes on the album, California love, How do u want it, etc. Little did I know that I had purchased an album featuring 28 great tracks. you know when an album is that good when you only end up skipping 2 tracks 5 years after buying it! The 1st cd has a typical 2pac flava to it, with some great collabarations, California ... ...are on any rap album, All about u and Skandalouz! The mixture of Nate's unmistakable voice, which is really more like singing then rapping, and 2pacs raw rapping style really compliments each other. Personally i love only god can judge me, a track which is all about the lyrics and actually makes your hairs stand up on the back of your neck! All these great tracks and i habvent even mentioned his last single released when he was alive, I aint mad ...

Advantages: One of the few REAL hip hop classics ever! Disadvantages: none!
...revenge, fear but most of all it is full of love..
Tupac Shakur had just come from serving eight or nine months in Clinton Correctional Facility, and was full of energy. He had a mission, to show all the people that left him for dead that he was a hundred times better without them... and on this album he did!
This is the first ever double CD in the hip hop genre. Which features the biggest names in west coast gangsta rap, amoung others Dr Dre, ... ...the black panthers.
2. All Bout U - "every other city we go, every other radio, no matter where i go, i see the same hoe!" very funny song, talking about the women in the video's. The inspiration for the song came from a video shoot... Nate Dogg, Pac and Snoop were at a shooting when they realised they new all the girls in the video! if Pac didnt know one of them, either Snoop or Nate did, if Snoop didnt know one of them, then Pac or Nate did! and ...

2Pac becomes the first black artist to release a double CD album. This album is the best work from both Deathrow records and Tupac Shakur. This album altogether has 27 tracks from the best in battle tracks with hard lyrics to tracks that are sensual and make a person think of everyday life. This album is full or deathrows own artists such as Dr Dre, Snoop Doggy Dog, Kurupt, and others. It also features Method Man, Redman, George Clinton, E-40, Richie ...

All tracks have been digitally remastered. ALL EYEZ ON ME was nominated for a 1997 Grammy Award for Best Rap Album. "California Love," featuring Dr. Dre and Roger Troutman, and "How Do U Want It," featuring KC and JoJo, were both nominated for the 1997 Grammy for Best Rap Performance By A Duo Or Group. The first double-CD of original material by a rap artist, ALL EYEZ ON ME marks 2Pac's return from incarceration to the recording grind. And though Tupac Shakur may have spent the better part of 1995 locked up and battling the system, the album makes it obvious that, rather than degenerating his artistic abilities, the struggles have only elevated his skills. Now, with the backing of West Coast hip-hop's first family, Death Row Records, 2Pac gathers together many of the rap ruling class to celebrate his comeback and give the finger to those who've scrutinized his music and aggravated his existence. While California has always been his base of operations (he began his career as a member of Oakland's Digital Underground), 2Pac is one of the few '90s rappers to earn props on both coasts. ALL EYEZ ON ME reciprocates the respect by toasting the west ("California Love," a duet with Dr. Dre), the east ("Got My Mind Made Up" features NYC strong-men, Redman and Method Man), and the old-school funkateers (George Clinton shows up on "Can't C Me"). The consistently fierce production by a diverse army of beat-fiends keeps the album pumping, seemingly diverting the mainstream consumers' attention away from the rapper's volatile stance. But 2Pac does not shy away from speaking his mind; he's simply learning which confrontations are truly worth it ("Only God Can Judge Me"). Because peace is that much harder to find when so many eyez are on ya.
