Up as an album is a real gem in my opinion. All of the tracks are ShaniaTwain originals and therefore are completely unique. All of the songs on the album are interesting to listen to and tell a story, which is something I particularly like. From the moment ShaniaTwain made her way onto the radio, I have been a big fan, and her album, Up! has not disappointed me. It all starts with the album cover and her sassy, playful, photo. Its very simple, yet striking.
I can't say that any song on this album is an instant classic, however, it is filled with incredible melodies, lyrics, and emotion.
The first track is "Up!" This song sets the tone for the rest of the album with it's energy, and as the lyrics suggest....."There's nowhere but up from here."
"I'm Gonna Getcha Good" is a song that shows her sassy side. A demonstration of woman power. "Don't want you for the weekend. Don't want you for a night. I'm only interested, if I can have you for life."......My thoughts exactly!

Ten or so years ago the name ShaniaTwain was always said in the same breath as country music.I was never a fan of country music but when she decided to broaden her horizons and take music to a new level with a mixture of what i can only describe as 'country leanings with a pop music edge i was totally blown away by what this lady has achieved.
After hearing a couple of her songs in the charts i was never goingto say "That dont impress me much" (excuse the pun) because she did impress me with a few songs that were fresh and clean.A far cry from todays mad world of music where everyone wants to pop a cap in your arse.
So,on that note i decided to buy the concert dvd and see what sort of performer she was on the live stage.
