Advantages: A completely absorbing read Disadvantages: None
If you enjoy a good psychological crime novel that is written, well I am sure that, like me, you will really enjoy this book - MyBest Friend by Laura Wilson.
This is the third book written by Ms Wilson, and while crime novels aren't my favourite genre, I found this a remarkably well-written and absorbing book.
This book is very unusual in the fact that it has three first person narrators as well diary entries from over fifty years ago and also includes excerpts from children's books. This sounds on first hearing that the book will be messy and hard to follow but Laura Wilson manages to integrate all these elements together into a dark, heart-rending story of a dysfunctional British family over a period of fifty years.
The book takes place during and after World War Two and features two sisters, one a children's author ...
Advantages: Close to the sea, close to most of the golf courses Disadvantages: Can get really busy at the attached restaurant
a reservation. My preferred method of reservation is to book online.
The hotel is associated with the Best Western chain,so it is possible to book a room through the best western website of www.bestwestern.com.au or nelson.bestwestern.com.au. During the offpeak season, it is possible to find rooms at discounted prices from the website.
The other option, which I have yet to try is to book directly from their own website.
Personally, I prefer to book through the bestwestern website because I have a bestwestern membership card that allows me free upgrades, discounts and points. But do check the prices among the websites because the prices differ for different seasons and sometimes, the prices are slightly cheaper from the hotel's own website.

Checking in is usually a breeze, unless they are training a new staff ...
Advantages: Strong acting, black comedy, nice visual look. Disadvantages: No characters that are likable.
Rick is a modernised adaptation of Verdi?s ?Rigoletto? opera. I did not know this before seeing it. It doesn?t really make that much difference to me afterwards either as I?m not familiar with Rigoletto. That said though, it is still useful to know this going into Rick, as it makes the kind of absurdist twists you?d only usually find in an opera easier to accept. Without this, the film does at times seem a little ridiculous. It?s still all very enjoyable, save one vital plot point, and upon reflection, it does make sense.
Our titular protagonist is Rick (Bill Pullman), an annoying kind of man you could only really find in the corporate world. He works at Image, and despite most of the film being set in or around the company, we never learn what they actually do. This is because it doesn?t matter in the context of the plot. We just ...
