...Can are one of those bands who get name-dropped by all sorts of trendy bands but who remain generally unknown to the public at large. They have a sizeable cult following, however, and most devotees rate this (or its successor, Ege Bamyasi) as their best.
Can were: Michael Karoli (RIP) - guitar; Holger Czukay - bass; Irmin Schmidt - keyboards and Jaki Liebzeit - drums. Their most important collaborators were two singers: Malcolm Mooney on their earliest recordings and later Damo Suzuki.

The band's sound is here moving away from its earlier dabblings in Velvet Underground territory into something stranger and wilder.

Advantages: Brilliant vocals Disadvantages: none at all
...Although Medusa is mainly an album featuring cover versions of previouly popular songs, in some cases the songs in Medusa are evn better than the original. Not to upset Bob Marley fans but I do truly think that the Waiting in vain track on the Medusa by Annie is a notch better. Other songs featured on the album include : No more I love yous, Waiting in vain, A whiter shade of pale ( which Annie Lennox says is the first ever album she bought), Train in vain, Something so right. All these songs if you notice had previously been sung by male voclists, which makes Annie's job all the more diffcult.
Others included 'Take Me To The River', though some were taken from less familiar sources, including the Lover Speaks' 'No More I Love You's', the Clash 's 'Train In Vain' and Blue Nile's 'Downtown Lights'. Get this album and you will not regret...
