All My Tears - Alton Ellis

Advantages: Best album ever
Disadvantages: There simply are none other than them splitting up!!!

...This in my mind is the best album of all time. It may be rated at No.12 by Radio 1 or whoever it was but it is an all time Classic. They dont know class music anyway. What do remember about my first experience of it??? Driving to Alton Towers with some friends with a taped copy of it in the car!!! Superb songs, all of them are right up there with the best. The thing is, they are all really simple melodic tunes!!! Easy to copy on the guitar. John squire obviously did not know too many different riffs in those days. The best song is kept til last when I am the resurrection ends and the instrumental break down begins!!! Best thing ever. Everyone knows Fools Gold and most know One love, the follow up but You should go down to HMV,Virgin (on be naughty and use Napster) and sample these audio masterpieces!!!! Advantages: Catchy songs and soppy songs on the same CD!
Disadvantages: Misses a really catchy song from the show out.

...This CD is purely magical. The cast of Starlight express are currently touring the UK, and although some of the songs are different on the tour then on the CD - u get the idea! They are same shows but done differently after all! Back to the CD. If u are after a CD which you can sit for hours listening to then this is it. Except ur be up singing after a few listens to it. The first song acts as an introduction with a little boy complaining to his mum, and playing with his train - exciting start but slightly confusing if you havnt heard it before. Entry of the National Trains is also the same - a little boy introducing the trains from different countries. Rolling Stock comes next which is the national trains singing about how fast they can be. Its not my favorite song. The 4th Song is beutifully sung. It is softer then the first few... Read review

Disadvantages: Not good if you don't like the wailing vocal effects.

...Bladerunner, as many of my friends know only too well, is my most favourite film of all time. I must have watched it a dozen times or more. The film is a true artistic masterpiece both in a filmography sense and for it's outstanding original soundtrack. The original soundtrack was written and performed by Vangelis - also well known for writing the music for 'Chariots of Fire' as well as "1492" (Christopher Columbus). I have a particular liking for synthesised music and film soundtracks and Vangelis is in my opinion the master of the synthesised film soundtrack. His music is original, contempory and evocative. In fact I'd say he's nothing short of a musical genius! His work on the Bladerunner film is one of the most memorable soundtracks that i have ever heard.
