Album Notes: Jamaican reggae star Wayne Wonder achieved notable success blending roots reggae, lover's rock, and dancehall styles with elements of R&B, hip-hop, and pop. ALL ORIGINAL BOOMSHELL treads lightly between these sounds in a way that should appeal to fans of both new- and old-school reggae. Wonder's smooth, appealing tenor is in fine form on these 15 tracks, whether on deep dread riddims (\"Emptiness\") or club-styled contemporary R&B (\"Taking Control\"). Dancehall icon Buju Banton joins Wonder on the infectious, insistent \"What You Gonna Do,\" providing one of the album's highlights.
Advantages: huge, cathcy, happy choruses Disadvantages: the last track
...Fountains of Wayne may not be the worlds most original or deep meaning of bands, but their brand of summery indie tunes is a delight to hear. Stick out tracks such as 'sink to the bottom', 'survival car' and leave the biker', are all guranteed to have you singing along on the second listen. They do have an attempt at 'ddep and meaningful' on the last track 'everything's ruined', but it fails to stand up to the quality of the rest of the album. Listen to this band for who they are meant to be happy, funny and catchy. I can't think of a happier band....

Advantages: Great listening,Richard Burton. Disadvantages: None (though perhaps a bit dated for the younger listener)
...On October 30th, 1938, Orson Welles directed a radio play about an invasion from mars, the play was an adaptation of the sci-fi novel by HG Wells “The War of the Worlds”.
Orson Welles decided to direct the play as if it were a live news broadcast and despite telling the listener before the play began, and again at various times throughout the play that it was not a real news broadcast but a radio play, thousands of Americans packed the roads, or hid in their cellars convinced that aliens were invading from Mars.
Forty years later a new adaptation of the book came out, this time a musical album conceived and written by Jeff Wayne.
An all star cast brought credibility to the venture and War of the Worlds became a huge smash, producing great songs like Forever Autumn, sung by Justin Hayward (of the Moody Blues...

Advantages: The best of metal, great vocals and riffs Disadvantages: Lyrics might not appeal to those who think that lyrics make a song
...this track with his great vocals. He goes from the fast paced “rap” to the sick screaming in the chorus, which just hooked me. He is their growling Bled for days there into the background. The instrumentals are pounding in the background giving this song that metal edge. Score: 5
Track 4: Love dump
This song is somewhat a slow song on account that he is singing about that chick that he gave all he can for. As the compliments Wayne says in the first verse. Then changing the it around and saying how much he doesn’t love this person anymore. He is wondering what to say which is repeated with the phrase “hand me a line, really hand me a line”. Once again the riffs and the drums just pound with the vocals. It’s a good overall song but once again doesn’t pack any complicated lyrics. Score: 4
Track 5: I am...
