Advantages: good to chill out to Disadvantages: not everyones cup of tea
...This album is really good...
For someone who is into a lot of rock and metal etc. this is a really good chill out album.
The songs are all really catchy, believe me you'll catch yourself singing it all the time.
In my opinion this is Alabama3's best album although i was surprised it didn't get the hype i thought it would with the soprano's theme tune.
You'll either love or hate this album, i let some of my friends listen to it as they were going to be a T in the park but they didn't appreciate it (but then again they mostly like pop and rap)
I think good advice for this album would be to download a song such as "too sick to pray" or "woke up this morning" before you buy it. if you like these then i'm sure you would like the rest....

Advantages: Mansion On The Hill Disadvantages: The Thrills Have Gone
...are in anyway less valid. “Too Sick Too Pray” is a very telling song of the ennui within the Church, there is the passive/aggressive feel to “Strange” giving a stark look at the society in which we live. But not all of their songs are a bitter look at life, for “Mansion On The Hill” is a great song to get you in a mood for a night out.
What is refreshing is that the band accept that the Club Culture from with which they originate and are most associated with. Is also fraught with danger from E and other drug use. Despite the obvious enjoyment with which they enjoy the said scene, the track “Cocaine (Killed My Community)” spells out the brutal facts of drug abuse.
Onw thing I will declare though, is that Alabama 3 are not Dance. It is an unfortunate truth in this day and age, that anyone...

Advantages: Catches the youthful sound of Mark E Smith Disadvantages: The Drums sound to mechanical in places
...This was the first Fall album I ever bought and I now have all of them. The Fall frontman Mark E Smith has always been a lyrical genius and the likes of 'No Xmas for John Quays" prove this here, 'The X is Xmas is a substitute crucifix for christ' is spit out with impressive venom. With repetition a permanent fixture in The Fall's music down the years the last track 'Music Scene' is excellent. It made me laugh the first time I heard this as they leave in all kinds of vocal cues that most bands would mix out. That is the beauty of this band, no sell out. 'We are The Fall the Northern White C*** that talks back' another sneering Mancunian lyric which should be enough to make you buy this CD alone....
