Advantages: Slick blues sound, sounds absolutely top notch. BEWARE! Geniuses at work! Disadvantages: None. No - none at all.
...again, and quite obviously so. This still has a blues feel to it, despite not really being blues at all. It's quite a complex track this, and less is made of the guitars for a change, which makes for a nice break in the album. The soul-style backing singers give a brilliant sound to an already superb track.
- Worried Life Blues
Calming it all back down with a cover of a track by 'Big Maceo Merriweather' (is every classic blues artist 'Big'??). It's a story of getting over the loss of a lover, and moreover, the fact that they will one day. Lots of blues guitar and gentle bass. Slow and sad, but definitely sure of itself.
- Days Of Old
Another B.B. hit, and a great one at that – less of the sorrowful blues, and more big-bandy than anything! This is definitely a party track, you can almost see Clapton and King dancing around...

Advantages: Guitar playing Disadvantages: backing musicians
...This is one of the best B.B. King albums I have come across. It was recorded live in the mid sixties at the Regal theatre, Chicago and was rereleased on CD by MCA in 1997. B.B.King is one of the greatest ever blues guitarists and this album provides showcases his instinctive feel for the music. The songs themselves are classic tradiitonal Blues. They are brought to life by the guitar playing, but also by the audience reaction and King's easy rapport with the crowd. In my oppinion there is no better introduction to this sort of music and it would also please hardcore B.B.King fans....

BLUES AT ITS BEST Review ofEric Clapton & B.B.King - Riding with the Kingby
Algenon
Advantages: Blues at its best Disadvantages: Dated for young audience
...Being an old blues buff my current lady bought me this CD as a present. It is a golden addition to my collection which has many titles by these maestros of melancholy guitar.
There are many re-makes of classic blues numbers that either artist has recorded. The CD culminates with a rendering of Come rain or Come Shine which seems to cement the friendship of these old masters.
Across each track Clapton shines with a white man guitar style that contains more notes than the Bank of England. King is King, and his style is typical B.B.Blues.
Both artists have voices that seem to have rounded with time, and mellowed with the years.
If you are a fan this CD will give great pleasure. If you are new to the blues or either of these fine musicians, then you will hear what can be acheived by decades of practise, and a spot of genius....
