Advantages: Good music Disadvantages: Shania comparsons
...I bought my first Faith Hill album purley because it had This Kiss on it, which has to be one of the best songs ever made.
At time I had also just bought Come On Over by Shania Twain and I thought that Faith Hill's music was within the same vain of being able to bridge the country/pop boundry.
However although both Faith and Shania have the same ideas they are infact very different, where as Shania's excellent music is more poppy Faith has stayed true to her country routes whilst still becoming more modern.
My favourite song on Breath has to be The Way You love Me which is so bouncy and a great song to walk or run to as it's so bouncy.
Faith really diserved her CMA for best Female Artist and I feel her duiet with her husband Tim Mcgraw should have also taken and award.
With Faith, Shania and the Dixi Chicks country musice...

Advantages: Good strong voice, writes songs and plays instruments Disadvantages: none that I can think of
...Terri Clark is one of those artists that just gets better every time you listen to her music. This CD is all about her different styles from what I call pop country on "Thats me not loving you" to a real country song on "Cure for the common heartache". The fact that Terri Clark can cover such a range of styles shows what a talented artist and songwriter she is. All of the songs on this CD can evoke a different mood when you listen to them, but put them together and you just sit back and enjoy the show. My personal favourites are "Everytime I cry" and "Unsung hero", but they are all good tracks in their own right.
Terri Clark has been bypassed by the CMA as far as awards go because I don't think she is commercial enough in terms of record sales for them, but the lady can sing and thats all that matters to a fan.

...Originally released to the ciao fraternity on 21.04.01,this revised version is presented to a new audience in the hope that it will get a few more reads and comments over the miserly few it gleaned first time around.
After relistening to all my favourites from the 70`s and 80`s,my son introduced me to modern country music.I have always enjoyed some country and western but have never considered myself a big enough fan to actually acquire my own collection until that fateful day when I listened to LeAnn Rimes for the first time.
Shortly after that a friend told me to listen to "Dixie Chicks".One of the best bits of musical advice I`ve ever been given!
Wow! I was hooked immediately! Within minutes of the start of "Fly",their second album I knew that I would love the rest of their stuff and boy is it good!!!!
I love music that I can...
