All Over The Place - Bangles

Advantages: Pop Classics in Manic Monday and Walk Like An Egyptian
Disadvantages: Beyond these not much for a casual fan

...Viewed by most fans as the jewel in the three pronged crown of the Bangles’ original albums, Different Light is a showcase of the singing and song writing talents of all four of the bands members. From the always popular “Manic Monday” (courtesy of Prince) to the dark stalkerisms of “Following”, via the quintessential 80’s pop of “Walk Like An Egyptian” and the hidden gem of a title track “In A Different Light”, this album really does have something for everyone - well, as long as you’re into 1980’s pop-rock! However, for casual fans there really is very little to get excited about beyond a couple of catchy classic tunes, and the record company-backed push of Hoffs over the other members is already apparent (six out of the twelve songs are co-written by her). ...unable to keep up their success and sadly in 1989 they split. There break up was mainly due to personality clashes within the band. In 1991 they made a compilation album "The Bangles Greatest Hits". I purchased this, and it is fantastic, it has all their best songs on it. I would highly recommend it, especially if you are a fan.... Read review

Advantages: great lyrics, nice slow ballad, gets you in the mood
Disadvantages: only great hit song from Bangles I think, it's a bit hard to find cause it's an old song

...If someone could ask me what's my favourite lovesong through all times I would say it's Eternal Flame by Bangles. And this is the truth and nothing but the truth. I'm not a Bangles fan really, I don't really like their rocksongs but I do like this slow ballad. Bangles girls sure have great voices and high voices, simply the best! Words are great if you're in love, everybody can feel that passion here. Besides I guess everybody has been in love so this song is a perfect one if you're planning romantic evening, you know little dancing...this is perfect for that mood! And I love to listen and to sing along with this song.... Read review
