It is always wonderful when you hear an album with songs that really touch you and can change your mood within itself.

This is such an album. It seems like U2 has gone back to their roots. Rock-music that really means something. Songs that can crawl in through every hole in your body, join your vains, and eventually make you explode from the inside. And in a world like the one we live in now, it feels like a relief that somebody really has the courage to believe in hope and a better existance.... even if it's just a dream.

But it works. At least for me. Take Beautiful Day for instance; the lyrics is about a depressed and lost person in a world that seems to fall down on her, but the chorus rings; "It's a beautiful day. Don't let it get away". Hope. The Power of Life and love. And it makes me joycrazy. "Stuck in a moment you can't get out of" and "Walk On" are identical in their message. Other fabolous songs, "Kite", "In A Little While", "Wild Honey" and "Grace", focus on the most important thing; love. They discribe it with such power and it feels so real and true it's almost unbelievable.

Even though these big facts I can't really help but really feel the best way by "New York". It's a really, really, really groovy song. The lyrics aren't as beautiful or magical as the others, but it's nice. One of the nicest lyrics I've heard and the melody is deeper than the others. Then of course I have to worship U2s reality-check "Peace On Earth". It doesn't offer the same happy feelings, but it holds the hope on fire. And I love it.

I don't think it's fair to compair "All that you can't leave behind" with previous albums, other than "The Joshua Tree" and albums with deeper meaning than just fabolous melodies. Because it is what it is. I also think that the people who only see the melodic aspect of this band really don't see the big idea with U2. I'm glad I do though. It's a beautiful album, I think it's one of their best, that shouldn't leave anybody un-touched.
