When I was a kid, my dad was really into Paul McCartney & Wings, and he had the cassette of the ex-Beatles star's 'All The Best' album. Recently, I found the album on CD on ebay and bought a copy for his birthday. He chuckled, we put it on and revelled in the nostalgic memories it presented us.
The compilation was released in 1987 and contains 17 of McCartney's hits, including the theme tune to the James Bond film 'Live And Let Die' (the track is of the same name) and the magical 'We All Stand Together'.
These are the tracks:
1. Jet 2. Band On The Run 3. Coming Up 4. Ebony and Ivory 5. Listen To What The Man Said 6. No More Lonely Nights 7. Silly Love Songs 8. Let 'Em In 9. C Moon 10. Pipes Of Peace 11. Live And Let Die 12. Another Day 13. Once Upon A Long Ago 14. Say Say Say 15. My Love 16. We All Stand Together 17. Mull of Kintyre
I find the compilation magical, as it holds a sense of nostalgia for me, but that apart, the musical quality is very high. There are a couple of tracks I am not particularly fond of, such as 'Coming Up', which is out of keeping with the rest of the tracks, and 'Mull of Kintyre', which drones a bit for me.
There are a couple of magical duets, 'Ebony and Ivory' with Stevie Wonder and 'Say Say Say' with Michael Jackson, a couple of nice ballads as 'My Love' and 'Once Upon A Long Ago', and a couple of more rock-related tracks in 'Jet' and 'Live And Let Die'.
I rate this compilation very highly. The music is very easy to just listen to, a lot of the tracks are recognisable, and the quality is very high. It is 4 stars in my book, dropped from 5 only due to the couple of tracks I'm not too keen on.
The album is currently available on amazon.co.uk for £4.98 new, £3.00 used.

Thanks for reading.
