...Not known to most i suppose but ' GravyTrain ' were one of Vertigo's best progressive rock bands. Formed in Manchester this is there first and best album which came out in 1970 .Definite ' Jethro Tull ' similarities at times and they shared much similarity to ' Raw Material ' another group of roughly the same period.
Lots of great guitars from ' Norman Barratt ' and flute / sax work from J d Hughes. This is a music brimming with ideas. First five songs are all really excellent.....but the final song is a real stormer and worth buying the CD for alone! Clocking in at a little over 16 minutes ' Earl Of Pocket Nook ' will take you on a fantastic ride....with it's guitars , bass , drums and flute really stretching out and jamming big time! .The Guitar reminds me of some Bob Fripp at times .All in all ...Stunning! A must have for any...

Advantages: Lots of styles, really contemporary on some, more traditional on others. Disadvantages: If you enjoy only house music then I wouldn't really say you'll like this.
...- it's a tough choice but Meditation On Dvorak's Slavonic Fantasy and Pin Pricks And Gravy Stains are two fantastic tracks and in my opinion if the rest of the album was rubbish I'd have still shelled out the money just so I could hear these.

But it definately makes me feel something. My fiance thinks it's reminiscent of Pachbel's Cannon, which I've personally never heard, but I'll take his word for it. Excellent, fantastic track.
The last one, Pin Pricks And Gravy Stains is just a great...

Advantages: Totally mellow - not so much laid back as horizontal - costs peanuts to buy. Disadvantages: Badly packaged very little information given.
...WOULD YOU LIKE SOME CHEESE WITH YOUR CHEESE? INTRODUCTION
Even the trendiest, most tasteful person has their blind spot. I wasn't the trendiest most tasteful person to start with, I like Abba and I still listen to and enjoy the Wombles, so my recently developed blind spot, one that has destroyed any vestiges of street credibility I might have had for ever, is blinder than most. It's Neil Diamond: God of all that is Sequined, Sparkly and Not in the Best of Taste and more embarrassing than the Wombles by far. Allegedly, eating cheese is addictive because it releases endorphines in the brain. Well I guess listening to it must have a similar effect on me. Having turned to the Dark Side - I'm still in shock - I decided to see if I could track down some of the Spangly One's original albums to find out if the "unknown" stuff is as "good...
