It only takes a second to know when you've found something good, something truly outstanding in a sea of likeminded fish known as the modern music industry. There are bands that, after having heard one, maybe two tracks, you know are destined to be big… and boy do I mean big. There are band's that, whilst not beholding the most inventive of ideals, you know can go on to change your life (ok, I'm over-doing it here, but you get what I mean)…
Paramore are one such band.
With an average age of 19 - vocalist Hayley Williams is 17, whilst drummer Zac is a mere 16 - Nashville pop-rockers Paramore are the latest band to break big on the Fueled By Ramen label. Preceded by the likes of Fall Out Boy and Panic! At The Disco, the bands combination of nagging hooks and intricate time changes makes for something that, whilst not being terribly original, is as entertaining as anything else about right now.
Born in Meridian, Mississippi, Hayley Williams was always one destined for far bigger things. Her times singing in local talent contests set her up for the eventual meeting she would have with the Farro brothers, Josh and Zac. Once relocated to Nashville, Tennessee, Williams and the brothers set about writing material, playing gigs, and generally getting the machine in motion. Subsequent band issues ensued, but with the addition of Jeremy Davis and Hunter Lamb on bass and guitar respectively, Paramore as they're now known were born…
The fact the band were signed to a deal with Fueled By Ramen after barely one show is testament to the budding talent the band have, testament further paid by debut album 'All We Know Is Falling'. A delicate ode to the pop-rock genre, All We Know Is Falling combines full on rockers (Emergency, Pressure, All We Know), emotional ballads (Never Let This Go, Franklin) and powerhouse epics (My Heart) into 40 minutes of utter perfection. Williams' vocals flit from one end of the spectrum to the other, comprising the subtlety of 'Franklin' with the crashing close of 'My Heart', and whilst there does come a point when the naysayer will question whether this is simply Avril Lavigne with extra guitars… Paramore are far from anyone's copycat.
Lyrically there's an undoubted gap between the band and their contenders. 'All We Know' talks about bass player Jeremy Davis' brief hiatus from the band (he eventually returned), and as Williams sings of how "we tried so hard to understand, but we can't", it's instantly apparent that Paramore are far more than your everyday 'emo' trash. 'Franklin' is an ode to the bands hometown near Nashville - delicate piano couples with Hayley's softly spoken vocals, and whilst the lyrics are far from groundbreaking, it's a sentiment everybody can understand; "So we stand here now and no one knows us at all. I won't get used to this, I won't get used to being gone. And going back won't feel the same if we aren't staying, Going back to get away after everything has changed"
'Brighter', 'Here We Go Again' and 'Whoa' instil the fun factor , whilst 'My Heart' provides the backs to the wall, fists in the air closer. Chugging riffs meet guitarist Joshs' blunt screams, and as Williams sings of how "this heart, it beats, beats for only you" 'All We Know Is Falling comes to a crashing close. It's hard to see Paramore going anywhere other than up. With age well and truly on their side, a vocalist/writer whose already shown more than enough potential in her brief career, and a band behind her that are more than capable of cutting the proverbial mustard, if Paramore aren't one of the biggest bands of 2007... Then well, I'll eat my hat.

Advantages: The greatest album in a long time Disadvantages: so great the 'very good' songs get overlooked.
...band they are today. This all culminated in the 2006 release 'All we know is falling' which has been gaining some rave reviews.
The album itself is in my eyes an absolute masterpiece, it's the sort of music to get you standing up and listening, the sort of music that can bring you around from being down in the dumps to at the very least a little upbeat. However there's a warning to you all, it's not the type of music that everyone's going to like, ... ...as I'd place them somewhere in the middle, perhaps Pop-Emunk.
Going through the album there's not one song that I'd say is a bad pick, opening with what has to be said is the perfect advert for Williams' voice 'All We Know' it delivers a quick beat and makes you aware what you've let yourself in for, with a quiet moment in the middle that almost appears there to be a break for the listener (as is indicative in many of their tracks on this album), ...

Advantages: The music is beautiful, the vocals are masterful. Disadvantages: There are only ten tracks.
...this album is not at all apparent as you listen. If I did not know that this band had only formed a year before this album was released then I would say that 'All We Know Is Falling' is the work of a band that had long been performing together such is the proficiency with which they progress through this album.
From opening track 'All We Know' right through to the closer 'My Heart' the band impress here. Never do they sound anything short of enthralling ... ...Her inexperience is not at all apparent here, she does in fact carry the band with that bold and beautiful voice of hers. Every track on this album is excellent, with none of these tracks do the band fail to impress and it thus becomes incredibly difficult to pick highlights from this release. I would however say that 'Pressure' is one such track that is amongst the best that this album has to offer. The guitar riffs are of great strength, the drum ...

...with 'RIOT!' their sophomore album. All We Know Is Falling is persistently overlooked by newer fans. But what 'RIOT!' is lacking, 'AWKIF' has plenty!
Released in 2005, the album was something a lot of teenagers were looking for. Not quite pop and hardly reaching death metal, AWKIF falls closer to pop/rock. Paramore being teenagers themselves when they wrote and recorded this album so what you wouldn't expect is the striking lyrics that Hayley (lead ... ...later lead to 'RIOT!'
All We Know - 7/10, this was the song primarily written about the loss of Jeremy. It's a good song overall, but it verges on being needy and clingy. It's not their best written song.
Pressure - 7/10, released as a single, I don't really see how this one gained their popularity, it lacks real vocal strength and the lyrics are a bit clichéd.
Emergency - 10/10, one of the best songs on the album. It's written about divorce and ...

1. ALL WE KNOW - This song I loved right away it's a great start to the album with a heavy guitar start. Then the vocals start immediately, Hayley's voice is really strong in this song and the guitar just plays along in the background but she never sounds drowned out. ... ...that sticks in your head all day, with its quick paced guitar rhythm. I think this song is about relationships and people giving up on problems instead of trying to get through them or vice versa staying with someone instead of facing the problem. It's about being hurt in a relationship and not talking about it and dealing with the pain yourself. The video is strange it is the band all sitting with scars and injuries in a room in silence. 5. Paramore: All we know is falling:
I have only just recently got this album and I have to say I love it!
From the very fist song I knew that this would be a brilliant album
I know this album has been out for a while but I didn't really find out about Paramore until about 4 months ago so I haven't really known them for that long but I have to say that this band have an amazing talent.
All we know: this is an amazing song it's the first on the album.
... ...dad nodding along to it and my dad likes 60's music!
Emergency: this is a great song the lyrics are perfect.
Brighter: I love the start of this with the guitar tune its amazing I play this song nearly everyday. Hayley also sounds amazing in this song.
Here we go again: This has an excellent beat to it you just have to tap you foot along to it.
Let this go: Not the best of songs but still a good one.
Whoa: nice easy name to remember this is a ...

Advantages: Great Band, Landmark Album for Paramore, Great Value with 11 top Paramore tracks Disadvantages: Probably slightly better value from the MVI version of Riot in my opinion
If you are looking for a great sounding, fun and energetic band, then I feel that Paramore are definitely a band you should listen to and "Riot" is a great place to start! This album really broke the mould in my opinion. With groundbreaking upbeat tracks like Misery Business to well written, beautiful tracks like When it Rains I feel this really is a well balanced album. Although there is mixed opinion about if "Riot" is better than the debut album "AllWeKnowIsFalling", my opinion is that Paramore technically improved with "Riot" and raised the barrier. There really is very little I can write with regards to disadvantages for this album, only that in my opinion you probably get better value with the "MVI" version of "Riot" where you pay slightly more but get better value with the acompanying DVD. ...

Advantages: Amazing Songs Disadvantages: Only 11 Songs
This album is defintilly a album worth buying, in my personal opinion if this album broke for some reason, i would go and get another copy straight away. but to be honest the album "allweknowisfalling" by paramoreis alot beter as it has a mix, but it is a hard choice of what to choose to be honest. The .best song on this album has got to be either "fences" or "we are broken" too see if you like this album i would strongly suggest looking at these two songs on you tube and then if you like them i suggest buyin this album and even "allweknowisfalling" the album is worth the money. its enjoyed also by all ages ...

Ciao members have rated this review on average: somewhat helpful Review of Riot - Paramore
Advantages: It's a pretty good band Disadvantages: It;s been a better band
The debut album for paramore "Allweknowisfalling" fell between "pop" and "emo", and set the band up to be very successful and a great example to both genre's aswell as creating a new genre. In light of this success "Riot" was eagerly awaited, and didn't impress to the same degree, where it attempted to have the same impact it fell just short. This album doesn't have the same sound as the last- and appears to have something missing, this is beginning to seem inevitable for most modern bands as they grow in popularity.
The songs:
When it rains- a slow song, which comes off a bit cheesey, but is great to sing in the car too - power balladesque!
Misery Business- a personal fabourite on this album. WIth lyrics which show inexplicable angst and a chorus to die for. This is the song on the album which achieves where the others fall just ...
